the ore works with fortune, so you could get 4 iron/gold/copper from 1 ore, isn't that great?

or I think its too OP

The raw ore items were implemented for a few reasons.

A: People were complaining that copper was too hard to build with even after they changed the crafting recipe. Using fortune on copper ore fixed this problem.

B: Hopper Chains are increasingly difficult to make on Bedrock Edition due to iron farms being broken on the version. Fortuning Iron ore fixed this problem.

C: It gave more uses to BOTH silk touch and fortune. Silk touch can now be used to get metal ores, and Fortune can now be used on overworld gold, iron, and copper ores.

D: It made all ores the same while also keeping the aspect of having to smelt metal ores. Now, fortune and silk touch can be used the same across all ore blocks besides nether gold and ancient debris.

E: You have to admit the Raw Iron texture is great, it looks like a boot :D

You have a point, but the fact is that ore items are not as useful as they said they were. Nobody ever uses ore blocks for building except in underground/cave builds, so the fact that ore blocks are able to be placed is irrelevant. Also, why should it be easy to place metal ores, but not gemstone ones? Raw Ore items also do NOT need uses like amethyst does, as their only usage is to get the refined ingot. This would be like saying that pre-1.17 ores need more crafting recipes.

The 21w14a snapshot was random, unexpected, and yet still delivered a great feature to the game. I hope to see more snapshots like it.

The point of raw ores is that you can now use the Fortune enchantment on all ores, so it does have a purpose and should not be removed. Also, I do agree that the raw copper texture needs some work.

I love the new raw ores!

It saves inventory space because im not lugging around a deepslate and stone variant of iron and gold ore blocks.

You guys bring up some valid points, but what do you guys think about the textures?

Raw ore makes resource extraction too easy due to the "Fortune" enchantment. Very easy. The amount of resources received is almost doubled. Reducing inventory clogging is not necessary, since bundles already exist for this purpose.

I'm also not a big fan of the addition of raw ores, but I can see why they made that change. If you were to mine iron ore then deepslate iron ore, they would take up separate inventory slots, whereas both regular and deepslate drop raw iron, saving inventory space. Maybe the option to toggle between mining regular ore blocks and mining raw ore could be added instead of raw ore being entirely removed?

I think one of the main reasons it was added is the fact that we now have 2 diffrent types of every ore so it A saves space in your inventory while mining and B saves smelting space

Its so that the mined deepslate ores and normal ores stack, also this can be undone by changing the blockdrops of ores using a datapack

raw ores were added so you don't need 2 types of copper/iron/gold ores in your inventory to prevent inventory clunking I think it is good idea because having 1 slot  type rather than 2 slots used its a really good feature in my opinion :D
