Building update

I think that there should be a building update and a new building system that is new and interesting, but still user friendly. We don’t want it to be like 1.9 combat. There should be vertical slabs with the new building system. You should be able to put multiple kinds of slabs in one block. There should be wallpaper blocks and vertical slabs. There should also be new furniture and storage options.

    Mojang has explicitly stated that they are not looking for suggestions about furniture, and if you look at the top of the Blocks, Tools, and Items section, you'll see that they do not allow suggestions for vertical slabs. Wallpapers are already possible via maps on item frames.

    I think vertical slabs is a good idea. With vertical slabs you can create a one block thick wall and have different color walls for each room. As it stands now, to have different color walls you need a 2 block thick wall. This would add unique customization options

    it's funny how many people really want vertical slabs, but there is dead no to them. in my opinion maybe 90 degree slabs would be good. tbh the most creative environments are those that have the most options available and not limited to only a few orientations. So I'm personally always happy to see new blocks whatever orientation or size they may be. they allow for more creative builds in the end.

    you should also be able to dye wood. That way we can have red barns, homes whatever color we'd like without having to use concrete.

    we need white walls, preferably a (Quartz bricks wall) or (Smooth Quartz wall), somthing like that would be great.

    Yes! Please introduce vertical slabs. It would be really useful for building 1:1 scale replicas of real world buildings and have both the interior and exterior parts be the correct scale. Multiple kinds of slabs in one block is also really useful to me. Without these two aspects I cannot currently build a replica of my childhood home in vanilla minecraft.

    it's so arrogant mojang won't add furniture, just do what the customers want you exist for no higher purpose. yea though furniture would be great my rooms are pretty empty.

    there's alot more you could do with a building update than this though

    I 1000% agree about adding vertical slabs and allowing different slabs within the same block space. That'd make for a spectacular building overhaul alone.

    However, I disagree about adding new furniture. Mojang's reason for not adding vertical slabs is because it would supposedly "inhibit creativity." I think that's a complete cop-out response. But it makes total sense to say that about furniture. Minecraft practically has infinite customization. So, the same chair design won't accommodate both a cyberpunk bar and a medieval tavern. That is unless you want to turn Minecraft into the Sims. Players have been building furniture with what we have since forever, and it's never been a problem. It really is just the result of creativity.

    On the other hand, I'd be cool with more metal doors. Since they're all the same shape, it'd allow for more texture variety.
