With the new bedrock parity, impaling now affects all entities in water. While it is perfect for the drowned (one shot when thrown with impaling V) and well balanced on the guardians, it can be abused to deal absurd amounts of damage. For example, with impaling V, strength II (with the latest changes, so +40%) and critical hits you can kill a 20 hp mob (player included) with a protection IV entire netherite armor in 3 hits if it is in water or rain, which is in my opinion ridiculous. And even without the strength and critical hits it is about 8 hits just maintaining the left click on your opponent. And in rain, it is ridiculously overpowered against the wither, which you can kill without preparation in about 20-30 seconds (5 throws and 4 hits with the strength). So while I like that the trident is now a real choice for combat (outside the riptide movement which is already good), it must not just be an assassination tool just to kill before being seen.
