I really really like these changes. its more like the old minecraft. you dont have to cower in corners for as long, waiting to heal. You can spend more time playing the game, making it faster and more exciting.
the combat changes are good and make fights more dynamic. a really good addition and diversification.
of course healing items can still be stacked with food and potions, where old minecraft was limited to non stackable instant healing food, limiting healing severely. with stackable healing the game is still comparatively easy.
Maybe an artificial healing limit could be introduced where your hearts can be healed 20 times, after which you would have to sleep to take a rest and regenerate. I like to believe that in old Minecraft healing with food was more like a "feeling" of health rather than a set percent. this could explain healing limits and the necessity to sleep.
i would like a limit on healing as right now i can just get a stack of beef and feel safe. there is no "real" danger as you never really get hurt. so, if food healing is limited this would incentivise potions even more, now stackable
overall this kind of update would introduce more crafting and preparation into fights. making people craft more, and i think thats alright. after all even the best player could not beat a noob in diamonds without weapons
