[Bedrock] Accessing Caves & Cliffs features with the Experimental Toggle

With all the buzz surrounding the new Bedrock Beta, let's make sure you're able to set yourselves up and help test out the new features. In beta 1.16.200.50, the Experimental Features toggle has been updated to make doing so just that little bit easier. Here's how to get started.

When creating a new world:
  • Scroll down to 'Experiments' and toggle on 'Caves & Cliffs'
When using a world you created previously:
  • Go to 'Edit'
  • Scroll down to 'Experiments' and toggle on 'Caves & Cliffs'

Caves & Cliffs features available in beta behind the experimental toggle:
  • Goats
  • Powder Snow
  • Sculk Sensor
  • Dripstone Block
  • Copper + Lightning Rod 
  • Glow Squid
If you are using a world that was created previously that you're particularly attached to then please note that betas can potentially make worlds incompatible with future versions of Bedrock. While copies of your world are generated automatically in the event of something going wrong, you're also able to create copies of your world manually as an extra precaution. 

And there you have it, you're all set to start trying out exciting future features coming to Minecraft Bedrock. Happy experimenting!

    I think it is grossly unfair that iOS devices can’t access the betas. Until EVERY bedrock edition device is supported, the whole bedrock beta concept is pretty much worthless.
    Then again, I suppose this is just a Microsoft company trying to discourage you from using its competitor (iOS). *java    
                            edition does not
                               count as iOS

     

    edit: don’t get me wrong, I love Minecraft, I am just sad that Microsoft is forcing you to exclude iOS from your betas

    finally, a way to exit betas without needing to uninstall and reinstall, I was in the last beta for a week and a half after the update came out

    When I last played the beta on Xbox One, the Caves and Cliffs experimental toggle did not show up, don’t know if this has been fixed or not, but thought I should mention it

    I wish there was a launcher for bedrock (win 10) cause enrolling and unenrolling as well instaling and reinstalling, and having to upload all your worlds, addons and texture packs all from the beginning is very hard. Bedrock is buggy cause not enought people find bugs while on betas since betas are so hard to access (compared to snapshots on java).

    I don’t have java, I play on bedrock Nintendo switch and I find that this is a really good idea. I think that it shouldn’t always PC players that get to try everything out...

    I'm playing on windows 10 and I'm still stuck on 1.16.201... I've tried manually updating but it doesn't work. I really want to see these features, but I'm (quite literally) a week behind. It's really annoying.

    I'm loving these new updates and betas! The Warden is something I can't wait to see in future betas, I love the idea of terrifying, unkillable mobs, it helps keep Minecraft interesting for well-equipped, experienced players.

    I noticed a problem though, a lot of the new blocks are non-renewable, which is unfortunate. I hope they're easy to renew in the future, so that players can actually use them in bigger survival builds. I also noticed that Mineshafts got changed for the better. I hope that cobweb can finally be renewable as well, perhaps from killing cave spiders, giving players a reason to revisit Mineshafts.

    I hope that there will be more daring, exciting updates for Minecraft in the future! Feel free to take inspiration from popular mods. It's a very good thing for Minecraft to become a bit more mod-like, it prevents vanilla from becoming stale and boring, and it helps keep the community alive!

    It doesn't show up on my PC. All I see is: holiday creator features, creation of custom biomes and additional modding capabilities. But if this is a brand new feature that just released like yesterday or something. Then I might just not have seen it yet.

    I am given the other three options under ¨Experiments¨, but I am not given the fourth option (¨Caves and Cliffs¨). I am on Pocket/Bedrock Edition and currently updated to ¨v1.16.201¨.
