    I think instead you should use the carbon element instead

    I would rather have it that you press 64 coal into 1 condensed coal, and then 64 condensed coal into 1 diamond (4096 coal per diamond) to not devalue diamond mining.

    Charcoal could not be used, because it's easily farmable, and we could argue, that its carbon content is of too low grade for diamond enrichment.

    Maybe you could smelt coal ore into diamonds in the blast furnace, it just takes a lot longer than smelting anything else.

    I like this idea but it should take lots of coal to make a diamond (possibly 64 coal per one)
