THANK YOU! this is such a great idea that would make rabbit farming used so much more in the game because people can get the meat easier. I'm giving this an upvote
I agree with this so much but I think these types of different breeding mechanics in which multiple babies are bred should also apply to other animals.
More mobs should have a similar mechanic. they can give birth to 2-3 instead of only 1 baby. Also goats should have as mush as 5-6 and not above that cause it whould make such farms very OP.
When developer Ryan Holtz added the rabbits, he said on Twitter that he wanted them to breed rapidly. If I remember correctly, he had the idea of making them breed without player interaction. That obviously would've caused the Minecraft world to become filled with rabbits like Australia, and he didn't implement his idea. But back then I thought "why don't you make them give birth to multiple babies?". I never suggested it, but now years later, the goats made me think about this again. Hopefully Mojang will add this, especially since the bundles add a functionality to rabbit hides!
Melly DowThat sounds interesting. It could affect which farms people would make, if for example pigs had larger litters. There could be problems though if you had some kind of mega farms. Maybe they would end up being too efficient, if more animals did this.
I think rabbits should have this INSTEAD of goats. It makes more sense. Goats have enough to make them unique already with their high jump and ramming attack. Rabbits... jump? They need something more.
IRL Minecraft is something the Goats, turtles, foxes, chickens, pandas, parrots, and fish do so well! the rabbit is already part of the Minecraft "food chain" and I think it should multiply like in real life
this might allow living in the deserts to be easier since you could get a lot more rabbits with less resources (carrots) being used up, and would allow the player to be less reliant on foods from other biomes, especially early-game
