This cave type would vertically connect caves to open spaces above them by making it appear as if the ceiling and surface of the cave and above space have collapsed down into the cave. The connecting hole would vary in height and width depending on the size of the cave/open space and the height distance between them. This way, when this type of cave connects to the surface, it would appear to be a collapse doline (a sinkhole) with whatever was supposed to be on the surface collapsed down into the cave below.
This could make for some interesting cave/biome pallet mixing and spice up some areas, both on the surface and underground, that would've normally been plain and samey otherwise.
