Copper was just revealed for the new update, it will probably be able to be ground up into copper powder and used in torches/lanterns

I'd say that eternal green fire on top of copper blocks would be sufficient. No need to over complicate it - green fire on its own should be obtainable.

Copper ingots should be able to be turned into nuggets and copper nuggets should be combined with a torch to create a green torch, then a green lantern or a green pumpkin lantern.

Yes, thank you for suggesting this. I remembered this thought when I was thinking of our flame experiment back in high school. Although we need a new block that could permanently have green flames but just having a green flame on a copper block is enough.

You can also just throw different paint into the fire and then you have, for example, red or green fire and with torches you do it something else. You have a stick that you hold against the campfire where you have done red or green paint, for example. or green friendly Greeting from Joël orsel

This is a great idea as copper doesn't have enough uses. Maybe have copper torches and lanterns as well as campfire. Or lighting a block of raw copper might give the green fire.

I did hear about a problem that I think this might be a neat solution to. What if the copper fire stops slimes from spawning nearby? Currently in survival mode, light levels don't stop slimes from spawning and the only way to stop slimes from spawning is to make sure all the spawning spaces are covered.

green fire should consume oxide layers

maybe not the most logical thing but it sounds interesting

I don’t see how this fits into the add-ons category, but it’s a good idea! Maybe make it so that you craft it just like normal, except with a copper ingot. Torches, campfires, and jack-o-lanterns would look amazing!

I think a permanent green fire added to the game would be very interesting and would be a great variant to include with the orange normal and blue soul fires we currently have. Since soul fire is a lower light source (10 vs 15) I think we should either set a copper green fire to be the same (10) or to have a lower light level (5 or 8). Generally, I like the idea of having a green copper fire allow for mob spawns while also lighting up an area, this could be used to give a super creepy vibe to the already generating mob spawner dungeons, lighting up the ceiling / room with a green hue while also allowing / continuing mob spawns coming out from the dungeon. of course this would carry over to all the green copper fire light sources (campfire, tourch, lantern).

No idea if it'd be better to use a copper block ( either all copper block variants or a limited select) for this crafting recipe or to simplify it to be a copper ingot or a copper nugget (which currently doesn't exist). Either way I would absolutely love to see a green copper-based fire added to the game; maybe adding it could open the door to the end receiving a block for a purple fire.
