    Farming update will be nice.

You could have more variety of Crops, maybe introduce some pest and you need to have a pesticide

    Its a nice idea

No pesticides but praying mantis nests which will be fond in plains biomes frequently which will get rid of them, and will also kill spiders when you take them with you on adventures, Minecraft wouldn't add pesticides.

I agree a farming update could be cool... but I don't think automatically replanting crops is the point. I think farming in minecraft is cool and relaxing but a bit limited, it wears out very fast. To make it more interesting, I think the mechanic should be given a second thought: maybe watering could require not only water presence but actual watering each some time, maybe some crops could need less sun to grow while some don't or they grow better in a different biome...

Maybe there could be a process by which if you plant seeds from plants which developed not so well, you will get not-so-good results again, producing this way that you can slowly select your crops every time you replant to get each time better crops (this would also be good because it feels like crops need a bit of nerfing, since they are an always-growing curve, i.e. it is impossible for a player who does just a couple of basic things not to get always more crops than they planted... I think this is a mistake, conditions could be bit more rough so it is not so easy to enlarge your crop amount).

Somehow, I feel that there could be a longer learning curve for the crops, requiring more attention to some details in some way, so it takes some volume and does not feel so shallow as it is now. It gets dominated very fast and soon it becomes a repetitive task with no much interest. It would be awesome adding details so it can be explored deeply along a bit longer period of time at least.

I previously made a post suggesting corn as a crop and it got taken down.  Maybe the Mojang team is not interested in a farming update.

I’d like if the farming in Minecraft had more depth. Think about it being as fun as farming in stardew valley!

jeah you need watering cans to water your crops, maybe when you destroy dirt there is a chance to get worms, that you can place over your farmland, to grow them faster.
Maybe you can craft watering pipes with the new copper to water your crops.
Or you can get some sort of mutations from an wild potato to an cultivated one.
Same thing from wheat.... from a wild wheat plant to an cultivated one that brings more corn or something..

the best way to go about a farming update is try to look at Pam's harvest craft mod that thing was so great I loved making pizza BLTs and yogurt all from scratch

Also i thibk so form of a tank should be added to store things like a solo or resivoir milk water ect or even rice
    or wheat.

It added both more decorative blocks with function we now have ovens and cutting boards and you can also burn you bread don't let your bread burn

I was thinking about a farming update in an entirely different way; to keep it in the ideology Minecraft has of kind of like medieval/magical vibe, I was thinking a farming update could introduce many new magical plants that can be found across all the biomes, and when eaten can give different effects to the player for a very short amount of time (maybe like 25-30 seconds). The plants could have fun names to keep it lively, like a levitation plant could be named hovershroom, and a jumping plant could be named rabbitleaf. Each plant would also be able to be infused into the new item I will talk about next, allowing to create a spell. Gauntlets (crafted with 7 copper ingots and one leather in a upsidedown leggings formation with the leather in the middle) would be used for better controlling spells. You could infuse up to 3 plants to each of your gauntlets to give it a unique skill set based on your gameplay. If you like to farm, one of your infusions could be a eternosprout, which casts a growing spell on a small area of your crops. If you like to explore, satisflower will infuse the ability to give you a new effect called "satisfaction" that basically slowly heals your hunger, kind of an opposite of the hunger effect. I'm not sure how you would choose which of the 3 infusions you want to use at any given time though. Perhaps you could hold down attack and it would cycle through each one, saying the infusion name where the name of an item pops up when you switch to a new item.

Rotten crops form when left too long and can be used to make potions of hunger. Also fishing needs to be updated: new fish, more strategy to fishing, bait etc.

Farming update should have new crops and seasons for planting.

    Also food should rot.

I just voted for this because it had a lot of votes but this would in the long run be a very boring update if it just added an enchantment, but there are so maybe things that could be added with this. For example, needing a real irrigation system with FLOWING water instead of water source blocks. As well as a chance of your crop failing and not yielding more than you put in. along with new game mechanics there would also be new plants, such as indigo( for a new way to make dyes), corn would be cool for the food update in one of my posts( selfless plug lol), and cabbage would be really cool too. But the farming update can include new farm animals as well, maybe a rooster to guide groups of chickens that spawn in the world, also a chance of some of your crops being destroyed by raccoons in the night. I think there is a lot of potential for a farm update and I hope Mojang plans on making one for 1.18 or 1.19

I got you all covered. What if coupled with actual Seasons, there were specific crop seasons. During a Crop Season, a Specific Crop (Wheat, Beetroot, Carrots, Potatoes, etc) would receive a higher Yield, Growth Speed, and Compost Rate. There could even be streaks for consistently having a rotating supply of in-season crops, that would increase the things listed above.

Farming needs new systems, mechanics, and rewards, such as better food sources or Brewing components. However, it would be redundant to just add Tomatoes or Corn just for the sake of New Food, they need unique properties and uses for a potentially more hands-on approach to farming to be viable and worth the trouble.

So here's what I think: keep the current farming system, but provide ways for players to strategize their farming and reap greater rewards, make it so cycling crops and re-digging soil, actions that take time and effort, are incentivized and recognized.

The issue with Farming is that it lacks any depth or dynamic gameplay, not a lack of convenience. a good start would be a more complex irrigation system, incentivization of plowing soil, planting different crops, and basic seasons that alter how crops grow.
