    i think the game cant support deep oceans at the moment especially with the depth of worlds in the game but with the new deep dart caves and the new cave generation they could be increasing that depth personally id love to see this added it'd atleast give the glow squid a reason to be there cause oceans are really that dark currently

    Yeah I think the deep dark oceans would add a horror aspect to the game since minecraft doesn't really have many scary things in it since the scariest thing in minecraft is probably certain parts of the nether or the new warden mob coming next update. I think the deep dark oceans should have angler fish, goblin sharks, and some other scary underwater mobs. The way to get to the deep dark ocean should be that there is a darker/black spot in the ocean a hundred or so blocks away from land and you have a choice to go down there since if you were pulled down into the deep dark ocean that would most likely scar a little kid who wasn't planning on getting scared. I think once you get down to the deep dark there are little caves with air so you don't drown if you forgot a water breathing potion or something, but stay in pocket of air too long and something dark could come and get you. There would be chests full of valuable items in the deep dark ocean, mobs that drop special stuff, etc., but since there are rare/good rewards being down in the deep dark would be really challenging, nearly every mob that spawns there is hostile, there is little to no light, and your struggling for oxygen (unless you have a conduit or water breathing potion of course). Sorry if that was a bit long but I just had to put all my ideas out there, I have more ideas but then that would make this comment way too long.

    @Hammysaur, a bit ambitious but your ideas are great! Having the deep dark oceans away from land would make it something exiting to venture too, and new players wouldn't accidentally stumble upon then early on in their worlds as well. Making it a struggle to stay down in the deep ocean with more hostile mobs would certianly make it more intimidating (possibly higher spawn of trident drowned?)! I'm also realizing that if you die deep down, your stuff will also spread out further along the top of the water. Could possibly also have some overhanging arches above the hole that could "catch" some items, making it more of a struggle to get all your items back.

    yeah i honestly think there should be deeper oceans, but the caves with air kinda doesnt seem right. maybe just a diving suit with an oxygen reserve or some artifact that you get after killing the ender dragon or elder guardian.

    This idea is so cool. I think that the deep oceans would likely be possible with the current depth, if you really squeezed it in there. In fact, I made my own post about it https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/14943414965005-Prismarine-Skulk-Ocean . In it, I talked about maybe having prismarine and deep dark in the deep ocean. Maybe there could also be lush cave elements such as glow berries.

    This would be great. Having a "Continental Shelf" or even "Ocean Ravines" that went down to deep slate would be pretty neat. I think some deep sea mobs would be good to add, like halibut. To encourage folks to explore this deep something like giant clams with pearls inside would be fitting. Pearls could be used for brewing potions, white dye, and villager trading. Giant squid that are hostile could add some fear to the deep as well, but that may be pushing it in terms of content.
