The armor penetration mechanic is complicated, and should be removed. It makes small attacks super weak, while big attacks seem overpowered. We shouldn't have to use an excel sheet to determine what passes through armor.
This would make armor much more simple, with full diamond protecting from 80% of damage, while full iron protects from 60% of damage. No quadratics needed.
Also, what the heck is armor toughness? It should either be removed along with armor penetration, or overhauled so it's easy to understand and actually useful. The current effects of armor toughness are so subtle it's unnoticeable.
