PVE needs to be rebalanced, and it needs to be harder

    Mm - I agree that enemies should be more of an ordeal to kill, rather than simply a matter of spamming it until they die. Creepers already have a bit of this kind of nuance; it'd be interesting to see other monsters take up different strategies.

    To fix PVE, we literally just need to fix blocking while attacking. Sure it's not bad for PVP, but it makes PVE a joke. I assume the "banner shield" will be expensive, but it's overpowered when you can just attack while blocking. Because almost no mobs deal more than 10 damage, you can just easily attack while being completely invincible. The solution is to keep the shield tiers, while removing the ability to block and attack at the same time.

    Mobs really need to be faster. Faster zombies, much faster spiders. Its so easy to just spam them to death in a second In 1.9 since hits were slower mobs could actually reach you

    Jens Bergnsten (Jeb) said they would be reviewing and updating the whole difficulty of the survival game (PvE) in phase 2 of the Combat Tests, when they are done with the player combat mechanics themselves, so you don't have to worry about it now!

    Besides, they emphasized a million times that banner shields will not be added. They are just testing defenses without adding new shields (which suggests they will be adding new shields).

    Sorry, I meant they emphasized that shields with banners will not grant more defense after the release. It's nothing they'd actually implement.

    And, mob difficulty and AI would be improved at phase 2. I'm sure it would be much better. I'm just saying its nothing you should suggest at this point, it will happen anyway.

     @Ziad El-Moursy I know, but since there's yet to be a decision on the actual extent of the changes to mobs and the environnement, I wanted to give specific feedback and suggestions.

    What I'm hoping for in a future rebalance is an in-depth look at how the survival and combat part of PVE can play a key role in supporting its other core aspects, so not just a few buffs to mobs and their AI but also a look at mob spawning, bed time, food availability, etc.
