    Well it's not like I could report it on the bug tracker, as the bug tracker doesn't support combat test bugs. Regardless of whether it's a bug or not, it should be removed.

    I don't disagree, but I do think it's a cool idea at least. Maybe if they could find some way to Nerf it enough, like decreasing the Range even further, or maybe you can only attack with Tridents while Shielding. (which can't have Sweeping Edge)

    RedSol6419 I would agree, but the reason I disagree with you is because that would require nerfing sneaking even more. It's really annoying that sneaking reduces reach, because I use that to reach down on hoglins and silverfish, now I can't.

    Seriously, the sneaking nerf is so annoying, and it punishes players for not using a shield. Sneaking should have the same reach as standing.

    Actually, the new weapons are what breaks more PvE than the attack while shielding.

    The feature to attack while blocking only affects long range mobs, but with melee mobs, that interaction doesnt change much.

    You should also consider the difficulty you were playing in, because on hard piglins do a lot of damage even with shields.

    Marko Nx How are weapons more powerful than attacking while being literally invincible from mobs? Also I was playing normal difficulty, but even on hard difficulty, you can still cheese most mobs.

    Its so bad in pve. Like, its great, skeletons are easy breezy, but mobs are zero threat. I'm tired of having to find my own difficulty in this game

    I wasn't actually aware that the Range nerf applied to sneaking in general, I thought it was only with the Shield.

    Though I think it does make sense to have less Reach while Crouching that isn't what I meant. In any case I think it'd be alright if you could only use attack with a Trident while Crouching with a Shield.

    Although I was just playing in the Snapshot, and honestly I kinda like how it is Currently. I personally don't want to use it a whole lot, cause you move so slow, but it adds another layer of complexity to Combat, and I think it wouldn't be super strong in a lot of cases. (at least in Hard mode, where most late game Mobs do over 5 Damage)

    RedSol6419 How does blocking while attacking make combat more complex? If anything, it removes strategy from combat because it removes deciding whether you want to block or attack.

    When I said it adds more complexity, I mean there's more actions you can do in the game. Whether the feature is good or bad, fact is, you can Attack normally with full range, or Attack with more defense and less range. There's more options.

    Personally I think that the feature itself isn't a bad thing, though the implementation may not be great. But even that I think could be argued.

    If you consider that Someone who isn't Shielding has more Range, if they deal more than 5 Damage, they'll break through the defense of the Shield. Or, if they have an Axe they can straight up just disable it, all without being hit by the player who is Shielding.

    I propose a tweak to this: Bring to us the Bedrock Edition current behavior, where you un-block while attack at shield-crouching.

    From what I understand this was added because it would be necessary on bedrock mobile to make cross play more equal, so it obviously shouldn't be on java. Even if it was added for another reason like to make it more accessible to people with disabilities, they could just make the sheild auto disabled when shift attacking (symilar to how the sheild is auto activated when sneaking in the first place).

    I think it could still work if two changes were made:

    1) Mobs with Axes can disable shields.

    2) If you attack while blocking, the weapon cooldown length is doubled.

    Keep in mind the second would not work as well without the first change, but it's a start.
