    It seems to be an oversight that players can create all manner of world configurations, but the seed has to be specified explicitly in the configuration. Changing the seed is not easy.

    The seed is currently a numeric value. What's needed are special values that allow random seeds. Perhaps "random" for a random seed and "inherit" or something similar to use the same seed as the global world seed.

    I honestly feel like this not being added is more of a bug than it needing to be required as a feature.

    This would be awesome, I wanted to create a "spirit world" that is like the one found in the old Witchery mod back in 1.7.10 but that can't really be done if I can't automatically use the world seed.

    I mean we already have things like this in json with "entity":"this", so you should be able to do "seed":"world" or something to automatically set it to something

    This totally needs to be a thing; I was so shocked finding out it couldn't be done.
