There could be different branches that help in certain areas like nether, end, caving or PvP.

I f you have this and more over powered stuff. You should totally have mor bosses and more realms  mabey the next big update ? Even biger than the nether update. That would be cool. And a  place below bedrock with better ores and more over powed mobes. Special material for Portals and betterstuff . That would be cool.

I completely agree with this, I love the idea of Branch upgrades from Diamond rather than just making gear that's better than Netherite.

My idea for an End Equipment set is Dragonmail. Crafted out of Dragon Scales and a new End ore, Dragonmail can be used to upgrade Diamond gear. Dragonmail Armor would have Fall Damage Resistance.

My idea for Dragonmail is that the Armor points would be distributed evenly amongst each Armor piece, so each piece would have 5 hit points. This would make it so that you'd have more armor with this set when wearing an Elytra.

The issue with the idea is that with other Armor you'd be able to get more than 20 Armor points, but I think something could be done about that. The Armor points could be considered separate from other Armor, so it's only good when wearing just Dragonmail, or maybe it could instead have a really high Toughness value, something like that.

*netherite infused elytras* that protect you the slightest bit, but are too heavy to fly in (but Mojang don't tell us and secretly release it in final version so as to confuse everybody)

I think your suggestion of having an armor upgrade affect other items in your inventory is misguided, but the idea about upgrade specialties branching off from diamond is something I've thought about a lot.

I absolutely love the idea of having to choose what direction you take your armor after reaching diamond. It would give more options for the smithing table, and possibly encourage having multiple types of armor depending on what you're doing, which is something Mojang is aiming for anyway. (Gold in nether, leather in snowy areas).

With 1.17 on the horizon, I've been thinking about how great this would be, and wanted an upgrade involving the amethyst crystals. I wasn't sure what perks would be useful, but I saw this post: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360072044411-Crystalite and thought an upgrade that saves your armor and tools when you accidentally break them would be amazing.

Imagine hearing your tools break, then the musical crystal jingle, and your tools are at now diamond and at ~5% durability instead of being destroyed. It would be an interesting decision between that and the lava protection and extra durability of netherite.

It's important to keep in mind that potential upgrades shouldn't do what enchantments can do, but there are options.

I think the mysterious debris should be in the air, not in stone. they should be as rare as ancient wreckage. and should be at a great distance from the end islands.

This is like chlorophyte from Terreria that one upgrade for archers, one for meelee and one for magic. Minecraft can have one different upgrade for each style of fighting: defensive, offensive, and archer.

I think that this would be a great idea if applied to other armor sets, too! If we wind up getting any more armor tiers in the future, we're not going to be able to have a linear progression system anymore, because it will simply be too long, and in my opinion, this is not sustainable.

In a small armor tree, like in pre-1.16, each tier of equipment was meaningful because it represented a significant step forward in the game. But, for instance, if intermediate armor sets like Copper were inserted into the tree, it would turn into something like Final Fantasy: You buy a bunch of equipment for your party, only to sell it all 15 minutes later when you get to the next town and buy the next best thing. That would only incentivize players to skip entire tiers of equipment to avoid the hassle. I would be frustrated if I was suddenly forced to mine Copper before I was able to get Iron equipment, or make steel before I could mine diamonds. But if those equipment sets gave me an advantage that Iron or Diamond couldn't, I might pursue them despite their lower stats.

If the game shifted to allowing side-grades of armor, with different pros and cons coming with each, it might make the player's choice of equipment in a vast sea of options more meaningful.

the crystal is kinda too op though, since you can just wear one crystal helmet with all the others netherite and still get the effect
