When you get hit by a mob while sleeping What happens?

Imagine if you could sleep when a monster is nearby and instead of a dream, you'd get a nightmare. It would also be nice to be given an option to turn this off for servers and realms if this ever got in the game.

This is an interesting idea, though it might be a little odd and not fit in. This would make a really good mod though!

Yes! but it would be kind of annoying you going to sleep and always having a dream, so I think "comfortable beds" could be a new block, where when you sleep you dream

Depending on how far the next monsters are, you get good or bad effects such as blindnes.

It would be cool, if you get in a dreem dimension with new ores, new dreem mobs and new blocks. There could be some different beds, each bed teleports you in a different dimension

Maybe you could add nightmares that you get when monsters are around. These nightmares then lead to a sleepless night.

Playable dreams were good. When you fall asleep you spawn in a random world or in your house and a few things are different. When you have a nightmare then you spawn random in the nether or in the overworld with a lot of mobs and when you die you cannot fall asleep for a while.

I think it would be cool if nightmares were more likely to occur when you haven't slept for a while. These nightmares could be about the Phantom.

i have an idea for the dream system
you see, the dream depends on what you did during the daytime
if you built something, didn't lose much health, and bred some animals, you'd get a good dream
but if you took a lot of damage, lost something to fire, or died, you'd have a bad dream
tl;dr the quality of the dream depends on the quality of your day
and maybe the dream would correspond to the thing you died / took damage to
if you fell, you'd have one of those falling dreams
but if a creeper blew you up you'd have a creeper-themed dream
maybe some dreams you can control and others you can't
    like in real life

Mann kann ja von den Koordinaten von Strukturen träumen wie endportal, oceanmonument, wüstentempel, minenschschacht und das waldanwesend.
    Oder von dem Pilz biom

I think the dreams should be optional in settings and you can only change enable/disable with operator. They should take use of the infinity snapshot and when you go to sleep on multiplayer, you go to a random dimension. I also think that, like Jack Dundas said, that there should be a 50% chance that the quality of your day is the quality of your dream. And there should be more things that can change what happens. For example, if a zombie goes close to you outside of the dream, the dream gets related to that mob. For example, you go to sleep into a green place that's just crimson forest, and a zombie gets near. Suddenly, zombies appear behind you, and change size the closer it gets in real life. To leave a dream, I think you have to get hurt in it. If this happens, please have a way to use commands to go into these dreams and customize what they look like, and what happens in certain situations.

These Dreams should be based on what achievements/advancements you have

Also they should be about the player (so with your skin)

It would be a little annoying to have dreams every time you sleep. So maybe have dreams be rare, and what would be cool is if it showed like a little place in your world you haven't seen yet, or like a secret cave you haven't explored, especially if we ever get upgraded caves and dungeons

I believe that dreams in Minecraft would be a little strange, but interesting. I think dreams could be mini-games that could be accessed through specific potions, dream potions. They would be manufactured using phantom membranes, as this mob is related to sleep and would give it an extra use.

Maybe you could see nearby Structures, like villages, ocean monuments, etc.

Maybe you could see Steve walking through a Village, swimming in the ocean, fixing a broken portal, raiding an outpost, you get the Idea

What it were (instead of a mirror dimension) a state in which the player can move around kind of as if in creative within a limited distance of the bed to map out and create blueprints of builds with a limited variety of (dream?) blocks. When out of dreams, a transparent memory of your design remains, allowing you to build anything you dreamt up! People could sleep next to you and they would join you in your dreams!
This would prevent it from being too overwhelming to new players and be helpful for building anything depending on how it could be done.
Perhaps the phantoms alone could intervene and cut your dreams short, since they currently have little purpose other than dissuading people from playing at night and repairing elytra.
This idea seemed really cool to me and there’s so much you could do with it, like cats or dogs following you in dream state.

Maybe it would be like a combination of good night’s sleep and rediscovered mods where there is a good and corrupted pillow able to place on beds as well as purely decorative ones. I would like you to be spawned at a randomly place in every dream with a dream realm specific inventory. What could also be are new and better ores that would need a new block to transport them to reality.

Great idea! I would love this in the game and sure others would too. As others say it would be cool with a kind of new dimension, only accesable by dreaming and in rare scenarios, you could bring some items back. There should be a setting or button to skip dreams and if you have monsters nearby a dream could turn into a nightmare or similar

There could be a button next to the "Leave bed" button that says "Dream". When you click it, it could take you to a new Minecraft dimension that is similar to the overworld, but has slightly different game mechanics. Maybe there could also be the nightmare dimension where it is always night and there are tons of monsters, including some new monsters. So pretty much, the bed could be the portal to the new dream dimension!
