There is not enough space to write it all, so here are some extra things.

I forgot to say this: Attackers that are stunned cannot eat or drink(defenders can), and when stunned defenders cannot place blocks(why? see advantages and disadvantages).

When stunned, the attacker and defender are slowed by 20%.

Enchantments such as Quick Charge do not affect stun time.

Arrows are the only projectile that stuns shields. Snowballs and eggs are too small to do anything.

Stun time can vary depending on the damage done by arrows and the load time with bows. The example above is for the max damage on a fully loaded bow.

Advantages and disadvantages for the attacker(melee)

    • Advantage: You can attack first
    • Disadvantage: Your large attack was just stopped, and now it takes even more time to deal with that attack again.
    • Disadvantage: The person you attacked can heal and eat at quarter speed
    • Advantage: You can splash potions down and place blocks

Advantages and disadvantages for the defender(melee)

    • Advantage: You just stopped a large attack, and it takes the attacker more time to do that attack again
    • Disadvantage: You cannot attack for longer than the attacker(they can attack first).
    • Disadvantage: You cannot place blocks or block for the stun time
    • Advantage: You can eat at quarter speed and splash potions down

Advantages and disadvantages for the attacker(ranged)

    • Advantage: You are not stunned at all and you can do everything you normally can.

Advantages and disadvantages for the defender(ranged)

    • Disadvantage: You are stunned, while your attacker is not
    • Advantage: You can eat at quarter speed and splash potions down.
    • Disadvantage: You cannot attack back.
    • Disadvantage: You cannot block(so if they shoot again, you are defenseless).

Also, enchantments need to be added to the shields.

    Glancing:

The stun time for the defender is lessened, while for the attacker it is heightened. Only works for melee attacks.

    Level I:

Adds a second to the attackers stun time

    Level II:

Same as one, plus the defender stun time is lessened by one.

    Deflecting:

    Arrow stun time is lessened

    Level I:

Stun time for the defender is lessened by one second, for only ranged attacks

    Level II:

Stun time lessened by two seconds, for only ranged attacks.

    Level III:

Stun time lessened by four seconds, for only ranged attacks

    Level IV:

No stun time, for only ranged attacks

An enchantment on swords and axes is needed to combat Glancing and Deflecting.
