(Content) End Game Beacon Upgrade System
I think it would be cool to add an end game implementation of the beacon from Minecraft which would supply you buffs based on what you feed it. In a way it would be an Upgrade Tree / Skill tree that is based solely on mobs you've killed and their drops.
When you kill a mob it will drop its respective loot which you can then use to upgrade certain abilities. That way grinding the game feels extremely rewarding and there is a reason to play each level to collect certain items. The items should be split into 3 tiers:
The first tier from basic mobs:
Bones (Skeletons) , Rotten Flesh (Zombies), Lapis (Enchanters),
The second tier from mini bosses:
Redstone (golems), Ender Perl's (Enderman), Ghast Tears (Ghasts), Soul Sand / Fragments (Evokers)
And the third tier from Bosses:
Potion Bottles (Caldron), Orb Shard (Archie) etc.
And so on...
You would use these items inside of the beacon for different buffs in a skill tree like format. For example you may have a skill based around breeding which eventually can multiply the amount of pets you spawn with a singular artifact. It could require Lapis (Enchantment), and Soul/Vex Fragments (Summoning) in order to upgrade requiring you to play levels with Evokers and Enchanters to get the upgrades. Much like a beacon you should be able to change your build but it will require currency to restart the beacon.
You would unlock the beacon after the completion of the second difficulty level of the game. Each DLC could have unique skills as well!
