What would they even look like? Dolphins, or what?

Think of a larger version of the current in-game dolphin with 2 extra dorsal fins, another pair of fins, and a sharper tail that swims side-to-side instead of up and down. The head would look more like that of a shark's. Karybdi would have two pairs of yellow eyes that emit light. The body would be a dark shade of blue, with the underside being a cream color.

Perhaps add tridents to their drop table, as an alternative source? And as long as Mojang is in the mood for upgrading items, perhaps a rare chance to get a "karybdi tooth" to upgrade/side grade the tridents, allowing them access to the sword enchantments?

Yeah, that’s a good idea, but instead of upgrading the trident, perhaps the karybdis tooth could be used to simply repair tridents. I don’t think Microsoft would like the idea of upgrading items right now.

What would they look like though?  Give us a description!

What if they have a big open jaw, and when you kill them, they drop prismarine crystals as well as a random fishing treasure?

Maybe this creature could look like mob A, the squid-like creature that would suck you into it's mouth? Another possibility would be more of an angler fish combined with a shark. I personally really like Floppy Gomper's comment on the tooth attachment, perhaps combined to the trident with the smithing table? Another idea could even be them camouflaging with the sand/gravel at the ocean floor, then popping out when the player is near.

I like this idea but I personally think that it would spawn uncommonly I like building underwater in survival and It is already hard for me to build with the drowned attacking me every second of the way so if this creature was like kinda rare and only spawning in like curtain water biomes like next to a plains/ocean biome or dessert/ocean biome that would be great.
Thank you for thinking about this modification,
