This is a very cool idea, especially since it is very logical. When you go to Nether and hear the sounds of your former friends, you will remember them, you will be both scared and sad

You can also add that in the valley of souls, you can see your soul if you have previously died in this world. And its soul is peaceful and will just fly

Don't get mad at me, but I was inspired from this post and made my own based off this one. Don't worry, I mentioned your name in the post, BSkC Arda

That could be good. Maybe you could have quiet passive mob noises playing in the background when you're in a soul sand valley

This is a nice detail but now with their Nether Update this wouldn’t fit in sorry 😐

Woah, at first I was like 'man that's fricking dark' but then I realized how genius this idea is! I also think ValkoHoudini's idea was cool, you could even make Souls an actual mob that would spawn whenever you died. And maybe you could even (rarely) see a 'ghost' of your pet, or even just a version of your pet that cannot go through nether portals. I love this idea, might make my own post with a more developed version of it (I'll reference you tho)

I like this idea, but I think it's too dark to be fitting for Minecraft, it could scary newcomers.  I suggest making it a gamerule turned on by default. The fact that your pets go to ''hell'' is pretty cool, you have my vote!

Only not all, otherwise if a lot dies, it will not be convenient to walk

This is a very cool idea, I voted! it is possible even not only in the Nether, but also at a time when the player is not sleeping for a long time or he is in a cave for a long time.

I love this idea! It would be sad, but I feel like it would fit with the theme of the nether.

I wouldn't be so sure about this, considering the nether is often thought of as Minecraft's version of hell. To make it so that you can hear your good boy in hell is kind of offensive.

how is hearing a dead pet in block games version of hell offensive?

There would be a new mob called ghost, that can rarely appear in soul sand valley. They are light blue, transparent versions of the player's dead pet. When ghosts spawn, they will sit next to you for a minute, and soon they disappear.

This would be a really cool idea to add! Like if you're traversing the soul sand valley, but maybe the animal sound and what killed it would be a bit more faint and/or altered a bit to sound a bit creepier

It would be even sadder in the end

Maybe the game could generate a hallucinated/foggy image of you sitting on a cliff with your pet once they die, and that image would have a one in five chance of showing if you die in the soul sand valley or go to sleep.

Instead dead pet only, why not also those that got nametagged? Honestly I've seen a lot of death of my beloved pets and villagers, and it was sad they are fading in my mind. This doesn't fit vanilla minecraft however, but still cool

This should be a feature in the deep dark caves, because the warden is obviusly (typo) meant to be scary, and it has souls in it's chest, those should be the souls of your pets, amazing idea!

yeah like have the sounds linked with the pet's death (how they died) and you could even revive them...

YEAH AND THEY COME BACK UNDEAD. LIKE GRIM FROM DANTDM'S VIDEOS
