Maybe levitation could be modified to allow for this and a potion added. But I think weeping vines might be too common. Perhaps it could be made from a new drop with Piglin bartering?

Perhaps it could be randomly inflicted when you get hurt in the Warped Forest.

I think it would be neat if you would drown as if you were under water when going beyond the sky limit. This would prevent players from going too far up, if this would cause problems.

This should be revisited now we have the Deep Dark biome.  A sort of antigravity trap (splash potion of inversion in a dispenser?) or monster that inflicted the inversion effect would be an awesome addition to the Ancient Cities.  The initial strike could inflict slow fall so as to stop the player from dying by hitting the cave ceiling, but then there'd be the challenge of not falling back to the ground upon the effect ending.  Falls of water/lava could push the player back down, and the levitation effect could do the same.
My only plea is that the player's camera gets flipped so that from his/her perspective, the world itself flipped (just for comfortable gameplay).
