Quartz Crystal Fields (New Nether Biome)
(Picture included is just a proof of concept and not representative of the full idea) Introducing, the Crystal Fields, a biome that features large crystals attached to the floor and ceiling. The crystals would be made out of jagged chunks of (new) quartz crystal blocks. Crystals could come in colored variants, likely with pastel/less saturated colors to match the white base color of quartz. Crystals would also come in various sizes and be in clusters or distributed sparsely, depending on the area.
The terrain itself is made out of a (new) dark block littered with tiny sparkly bits of colored quartz. Individual 1-block crystals would be "growing" on the floor, dropping a small amount of nether quartz in the same way dead bushes drop sticks.Terrain would be relatively flat and sit at the lava level of the nether. Additonal plateaus could reach up to about 2/3 the nether height, allowing room for the hanging crystals. Such plateaus could have varied heights and overlap eachother, giving the whole biome a very layered look. In addition, the Crystal Fields would have slowly descending sparkly particle effects.
The Crystal Fields would be rarer than the other nether biomes, but with plenty of size and variation when they do generate.
While exploring the biome, there is a rare chance that the player will find semi-transparent crystals composed of (new) prime crystal blocks, which can be used to craft a (new) prism infuser, an endgame crafting station that simplifies dying blocks and allows the player to dye otherwise undyable building blocks.
I will discuss the mentioned blocks and items in more detail in a separate post.
