Netherite blocks are absurdly expensive

It's not unreachable. I've just seen xQcOW, a streamer, getting it in Survival, in less than a day.

I have an idea for the potential solution: increase the amount of Ancient Debris (it's also a cool building block on its own) per chunk, but increase the amount of ingots needed to craft armor and tools. Maybe 8 netherite ingots and a diamond tool/armor in a middle? It would allow to increase the amount of Ancient Debris by 8 times, and keep the current tool and armor balance.

By "unreachable" I mean you can't really use it as a building block, because you need dozens or even hundreds of blocks to make a floor for example. A whole stack of blocks is just 8x8 area. And a 8x8 area of netherite blocks would take the same amount of time as mining over 4000 diamonds.

My solution - change netherite ingot to need only two scrap, halving the cost, while balancing it out for tools by having them be crafted normally instead of the dumb diamond upgrading thing.

A great solution is to change the recipe of Netherite Blocks to 8 Scrap surrounding a Gold Block.
It's still expensive, but much more affordable.
By the way, this recipe costs almost exactly 2 Netherite Ingots.

Keep in mind that mineral blocks are also serving a storage role, and they are not really meant for building on survival. To have a lot of every cool block you can find, there already is a mode that allows it; on survival, some things are meant to be hard.

Completely disagree. Some itens are made to be hard to get and it doesn't need to change.A way to solve this problem is create a smooth basalt block that looks like the netherite block.

Maybe the recipe can be changed to be a 2 by 2 square to craft it instead of 3 by 3, like how quartz is.

It doesn't have to be "reachable"—looking aside the fact that it's actually very reachable. It's a new cool block indeed, but it's not a building block, and just because it looks fancy, doesn't imply it has to necessarily be something you throw around. It's an extraordinarily rare item, and that's the very purpose of it.

Since the netherite ingot is crafted with 4 gold ingots and 4 ancient scraps, it would be huge, so it should only take 4 Netherite ingots to make a block
