These would be treasure items, obtainable only by trade and exploration. Like I mentioned above, the control they would have over weather would be small. Once a day, a player with a storm globe placed nearby can trade one experience level for a change in weather. This change would be random, as would how long the change lasts, but it would help players waiting for thunderstorms and players who don't like rain. The randomness and price will hopefully balance it well, as choosing weather directly might make players too powerful. What I like about it is how it gives more of a chance of thunderstorms, makes channeling more useful, uses mostly current programming, and gives a small reward for exploring to players. It would also make a fun decorative block. As a suggestion to make it more rare, if it ever naturally generates, it should only give its item when broken with silk touch.
