Sprites (Ephemeral Community)

Sprites are neutral, intangible humanoids. They live in towns made from intangible materials. They would interact with intangible materials as if they were solid, and with physical ones in a way similar to scaffolding. Their town would be expandable, and they would give players rare intangible items for completing certain tasks, such as decorating their town with tangible items or defeating enemies within their range. They have both a physical and an ephemeral attack. The physical attack is a magical one, accomplished by influencing plants to create something like an evoker's fangs, but with unique effects and damage levels. Their intangible attack is weapon based, and is used to fight ephemeral creatures. They are aggravated whenever a mob or player in their range attacks a passive or neutral mob, which includes their own kind. They would be a unique addition to Minecraft, especially since they would interact with the world in an unusual way.

  I'm glad you are excited about this idea! Yes, intangible blocks would be used for keeping out intangible creatures, which could potentially include vexes. The Ascendance post has links to most of the current intangible post ideas in the first two comments, including the blocks mentioned. Shade crystal is the only exception I have come up with, and it should be noted that I need to rework it for balancing purposes. I hope you enjoy these additional ideas! Please note that the posts are separate for a reason as well. Vote for whatever ones you like best without feeling restricted or obligated by any you may not. I would also love to hear additional ideas and constructive criticism!
