    Unfortunately, the only other solution for this is to remove auto-clicking. I'm against removing it so I had to vote.

    "Many servers would stay on 1.8 because in the Combat Tests you can't spam click."

    The funny thing at the new combat system is that you hit faster with spam clicking than by holding down the mouse button.

    I know you can, and who knows, maybe servers will update? But pretty much the point of spam-clicking in previous versions of Minecraft is that if you miss, it's not a big deal. If you spam click in the Combat Tests, if you miss, you have to wait for the cooldown. So I think servers wouldn't update personally.

    You can still spam click, it's almost as effective as before 1.9, except you can only deal damage every 0.685 seconds instead of every 0.5 second.

    Yes that's my point, but what I'm saying is that if you can attack once every 0.685 seconds with spam-clicking, then simply holding down the attack button can attack once every 0.685 seconds. This makes spam-clicking useless when you can spam-click.

    PureAwesome334 , the current rate of attack for hold to attack is 0.822 seconds before an attack, which is almost exact to what you are suggesting to be implemented
