Do not add emotes

The emotes showed at minecon are extremely tacky, and only serve to water down the game to the level of worse game franchises.

Any feature that reduces creativity by artificially introducing a handful of premade options is diametrically opposed to the fundamental design of minecraft, and should be avoided at all costs.

    Yeah this really limits the creativity of... crouching at people, looking at people and punching them?

    I feel like this is a really pretentious way of saying "fortnite bad minecraft good".

    There's not too much of a downside, though...

    With crouching and punching, there's still only so much that you can do. I'm completely okay with emotes, since they add more functionality and personality to the Minecraft characters, and it would allow more hand motions to be done.

    In my opinion, there is no personality in performing a cookie-cutter animation. Minecraft is all about creating whatever you want from the tools you are given, not having premade things handed to you

    I personally disagree. Imagine trying to get someone's attention by waving. Or someone does something stupid, and someone else performs a facepalm. I think the issue people have with emotes in Minecraft is that it's only meant to rip off of Fortnite with all the dances they have, when in reality, it could just add that much more personality into multiplayer experiences

    I know,mojang ive been playing longer than my account (almost before alpha) and this is ABSOLUTELY true,I don’t want the server lobbies filled with Steves and alexes doing default dances like fortnite,we have the iconic sneak jump for peace or happiness and hitting for anger,sadness and fooling around(also don’t forget chat)

    no no no add emotes please i even saved up minecoins but if you are going to add them make them like 30 minecoins or less

    If you do add them, (pls dont) at least make them free, or able to get by completing achievements instead of costing money.

    By Microsoft's own logic of not adding vertical slabs or furniture, emotes would inhibit creativity.

    I don’t think you even realize that minecraft is also about true connectivity as well. If there isn’t additional emotes that contain emotional expressions and such. How will there be better friendships and better expressivity? It may be about creating and surviving, but EMOTES HAVE A PLACE TOO!

    I agree strongly that there should NOT be Emotes. BUT if you guys real want it then here are some ideas.

    #1- make it a marketplace pack for like $15 and slowly add more Emotes for free to the people who bought it.

    #2- if you do go with the first option then add a way to disable it and or make it so the world/sever host can ban Emotes. (so they aren't ruining the game by being annoying)

    #3-make it so that a Emotes are removed from servers unless the Host says so. like Mineplex would be ruined if some guy is Dabbing right next to you  when you are trying to hide.

    #4-Lastly (if you do add Emotes) try not to make them at all like "Fortnite" and also don't make them to cringe.

    I and a lot of people think these Emotes are going to ruin the game. and they probably are, but I, and probably a lot of other people think that if you follow these rules they you could help. It still wouldn't be the best, but better. 

    So please, (for all of your hundreds of millions of fans), please don't add Emotes.

    I think adding emotes is a bad idea. Adding emotes to the game will create less of an enjoying experience and more of an experience where you have to ask your parents for money to buy these emotes even though they are pointless. Don't make Minecraft like fortnite!

    Please, Microsoft, I Beg you! Don't make this game another Roblox, so don't add those emotes, please! We want simple good old Minecraft not another Roblox or something, idk. So please, do not add them

    I really hope they don't add emotes because it will definitely cost money and cause a toxic social hierarchy about who has the most emotes like in Fortnite. If you can get them all for free that would be a little better. Personally I think the current emotes look terrible in the world of minecraft anyway.

    I dislike this particular part of the update. If you are going to do emotes, make them useful, but I can't think of any useful emotes besides maybe the over there emote. I dislike this feature to minecraft and think it should be removed or if you won't do that, at least make it functional!

    I like the idea that we can add emotes, but I simply disagree with having to purchase some. People without minecoins should be able to get less tacky, simple emotes. The emotes should be for everyone to share and use. I know this is a way for Minecraft to make money, but isn't playing together, and having fun what's important? Vote here is you think that people shouldn't have to pay for emotes to use them!
