Epic collection a bad idea for a daily

This should really just apply to any daily challenge that relies on RNG from chests. I had the same issue with collecting 5 wool from tappables. Plenty of sheep, but no wool.

I played for about an hour today and only had 2 items count towards it. Epic items that are stacked only count as 1 for the quest - that definitely needs changed.

Came to post this very thing. Thank you for mentioning it. Now, if non-mob tappables counted towards this daily, and there were epic loot from the likes of trees and dirt and rock, this be more feasible.

I wasn't able to get two days of the daily challenges because of this. I'm not complaining, somehow I still completed the weekly. I might have missed out on 500 XP and some Rubies, but that's easily obtainable.

After thinking about it further, having this gather epic items as a daily or weekly isn't so much the problem. The problem is what goes towards this daily / weekly (not just mobs, but also epic items).

If the loot table for all tappables were modified to include epic items, and as I mentioned both items and mobs can count towards this daily / weekly, you can fix the problem quite easily.

I'm level 11 and I don't know that I've gotten 3 epic items from tappables this entire time. I'm fairly certain I've only ever gotten them from adventures. Pretty much every chest I open is wooden fences and seeds.

Agreed, epic rarity and wool coming from a chest is too hard to obtain Due to the lack of chests In my area. I also missed both days challenges in both weeks, but somehow got the award.

As it is right now this one feels like a too big luck factor or time factor tied to it. As a monthly or something it might work.

I played a couple of hours today and got not even one epic drop. So this is close to impossible to complete. This needs to be removed from the daily challenges for sure.

CenturyChild80, I've been following these forums for the last 3 weeks I've played Minecraft Earth. I see this very topic get 1 or 2 new comments every week on Friday and Saturday.

Each week I've only gotten 2 of the 3 epics or wool (tomorrow's challenge I believe), yet each week I also get credit for all weekly challenges.

Something tells me the developers are aware of the drop rate issues, which is why the game seems to automagically give credit for all weekly challenges each week).

Update: This Friday (20th of December 2019), the requirement was lowered to just 1 epic item for the first time, to my knowledge. I still did not encounter enough chests that evening to get an epic item, but the day after, I got one from the first chest - typical xD

Anyway, the requirement was lowered, so Mojang seems to be aware of it and are making adjustments to the daily challenges as needed :)

Of course we should still report on issues like this one, but I thought I would chime in with my positive observations :)
