So I could help notice that various soul sand types in the teaser and thought it would be really interesting to add some additional effects and potential lore to the nether, specifically the soul sand valley. Why is it called soul sand and what makes it what it is? Could we potentially have this effect to some random blocks of sand absorbing streams of ghostly gas that is actually absorbing souls and what would bring the soul sand to have the faces in them. The transition of soul sand to the one with faces doesn’t need to happen, it’s just adding the dark vibes to the nether a bit more. In addition, it would be neat if the player would be able to catch the soul stream witch an empty bottle and use it for potions to make the player ethereal. Upon drinking a potion of ethereal, the player will become transparent and cannot interact with mobs, players, chests, redstone for an allotted time. The player cannot be harmed by mobs, fall damage, lava etc. So it’s an effect that can be beneficial for serious situations or for playing pranks but the player loses all abilities to interact with the world for being a ghost effectively. I think having just additional attention to details to the nether would just be a nice sight, even if the player couldn’t catch the soul streams, it’s just nice to see what horrors really lie in such a dark place.
