Oh, thank you Nova. I didn't realize the third image took up too much space.

a pretty cool concept! however, i feel like the mob's behavior is a bit too tame for the nether, which is supposed to be a dangerous place since it's neutral and it has natural aggression against most monsters.

most mobs in the nether are very dangerous to fight if you don't know what you're doing
ex. wither skeletons can kill you easily, blazes can be very annoying since they have a 100% chance of setting you on fire, and ghasts can easily knock you into the lava with fire charges. (pigmen are an exception since their passive-aggressive mobs but they can still swarm and overwhelm the player if they accidentally hit one)

what i would do is find it a way to make it at least just as dangerous as the other mobs, like possibly giving it the ability to melt into a big puddle of lava when players are near them, giving them a more "defensive" sort of behavior, but in turn exposes some sort of core in the middle which could be shot down with a bow and arrows (maybe the core could shoot back idk).

otherwise its a pretty cool idea!

tbh, this could be one of if not the best mob in the nether, it fits too well in the hellscape that is this dimension :0

I was considering some other details for the Magropod, most of which I had to cut out of this post in order to save space. Most of these wouldn't really fit with the mob, however. They are the following:

    1. Magropods also ignore Zombie Pigmen and Piglins unless provoked
    2. Magro Blocks, made by combining 9 Magro Shards on a crafting table
    3. Creating new Magropods by stacking 3 Magro Blocks on top of eachother, placing a Jack o'Lanturn on top, and surrounding the bottom Magro Block with lava sources on all 4 sides
    4. Snowballs and water accelerating the cooling process
    5. Magropods being scared of Snow Golems, who automatically target them
    6. A new "Iron Lead" (or Chain) item which can be used to pull any monster such as the Magropod

Definitely a rad idea! Would be cool to see another mob taller than 2 blocks, yet also taller than an enderman

I have an idea, the magropod can jump out of magma blocks so Minecraft would spread out more magma blocks. Please consider this concept. Thank you!

    Excellent concept!

More mobs that are lava-themed is always welcomed.
I really like its ability to swim faster in lava its cooling mechanic. I would make it solidify if it makes contact to water, rain, or even snowballs!

Perhaps instead of cobblestone, it should yield obsidian for water-based cooling.

The potion idea is really unique, because swimming in lava is a pain. Being able to swim through it better with this potion makes a lot of sense and really connects well with the mob -- just don't forget to put on that Fire Resistance potion!

One thing I would suggest changing is its neutral behavior. I think they should be aggressive to almost every creature in the Nether, especially if they already have a dislike for a few. Their behavior could be more about territory? Either way the Nether is a harsh place, and they would probably not treat you as a welcomed guest.

Lastly, they should also be able to move quicker of they are walking on magma blocks, to give some more neat functionality to this mob.

Overall it's a really well made idea, and I would be more than happy to see this be in the base game.

Interesting idea, however some changes would probably need to be made. I think that it sets a trail of fire and is annoying by turning sand into glass and cobblestone into stone.

I feel like this is a bit OP for a friendly mob. If it is gonna be that powerful give it a bigger downside as well or weakness of some sort. Maybe like. If it is constantly in lava it well swell up to a max size and explode or make it melt into lava source blocks of its appropriate size. Or maybe it keeps blocks (in a certain diameter) around it,constantly on fire, not allowing it to just be a shield from Ghasts or Blazes.

maybe it should be aggressive until fed magma, just for variation in the nether after nether update

MAYBE... They could hunt striders within 30 blocks?
