I agree. No timer in standard minecraft so why the need to have one here?

I agree 100% the reason people stop playing these types of games is because it because a blatant money grab. Pay for speed ups, pay for gems to buy other things and so on.
If you want your game to stand out then just have the things to need to pay for be extras. Like a way for people up show off and customization. Things like super specialized build plates.
Not for things that we wouldn't have to pay for in the regular game.

Remove crafting timers. They don't fit in this game.

Yes I don't mind paying for non essential stuff in the game but I'm definitely NOT going to pay to skip time.

Also Timers don't make any sense and break the game experience. I know devs put it there for a reason but for the love of God take it out. This isn't a Facebook or a Zynga game. In pokemon go it makes sense here it doesn't.

Crafting and smelting take way to long and the micro transaction to instantly finish craft/smelt really stinks. Just tryed to smelt 7 iron ore and timer says 1hr 22min. Was very happy with craft/smelting after not having it in the beta, but these times are ridiculous.

Votes! I was hoping Minecraft would be different. They already have a solid game and IP. This could be a great game and interaction for kids. Can't they just please please please 🙏 let them (and dad) play without timers!

It makes the game not feel like Minecraft. Missed out on an adventure because of this. In standard Minecraft if I want to go on an adventure, I craft several picks at once and set out immediately. Making us wait really kills the immersion for me.

This. My goodness are the timers awful gameplay wise. I really like the game so far but I could see the timers being what makes me stop playing after some time

I do agree very much so about the times ect. But they did risk a lot and spend a lot to make this game and i see why they need to gain a fair bit of profit, just maybe balance out the micro transactions and make them fair

I agree. If they have to they can make smelting timed but crafting? Seriously?

I completely agree with you on the waiting thing for crafting. It's totally ridiculous! I know that they want to make money off of these sorts of things, but by doing this it will honestly make likely over half of the fan-base discouraged and annoyed, eventually leading them to stop playing after a week.

So as a compromise, what if they instead could have a one-time payment(idk, maybe $5-$15) for instant crafting and/or smelting forever. I would definitely give them my money if they did that. It is so simple, yet effective.

The one thing that I am always drawn to when playing Minecraft is the feeling of freedom do whatever you want without limitations, and with this system of "buy your way to more freedom" is not working with me. Unless they fix it, I'm sorry, but you've just lost a long time veteran player on this one.

Times for crafting are the worst incentives to keep playing, especially for a "community" game.

The time to wait just for 36 things is alot i think it should be like 30 sec per item

Waiting for crafting is pretty frustrating, though I don't mind the smelting timer as that both meshes with the original game and... makes sense. It's acquiring the materials that's the tough part, not mashing them together.
If the timer has to stay, what about a way to bypass it (like having and tapping on a crafting table at your buildplate)? Because if it's making me reluctant to even use stone pickaxes... I'm not sure how long diamond ones will take to get...

I disagree with the timers being a problem. I am an adult and I've been playing Minecraft Earth almost every day, getting all daily achievements. I walk between 5k to 25k each day, and I use the game as a motivator to get more steps in.

Why I think these timers are good

    • They limit how fast you can get the best items in the game.
This means they are a way to slow down the sense of having completed the game (it's infinite, but once you've done the same thing over and over, there is not much incentive to continue).

    • They incentivize planning head

    • They incentivize you to do something else while waiting for the smelting/crafting time.
Like sleep, eat, take a break from the game and enjoy the scenery around the tappables and adventures.

    • They make rubies more useful, which is a currency you do not have to pay for to get, just play long enough.

I understand the amount of time smelting and crafting but I would of hoped too build on a buildplate to smelt. Buildingng a big smeltery on your coffee table seems funny to me. Having the long wait time wouldn't be an issue then but other players might nick the smelted ore but that would be another reason to have the smelting slots so you know that they won't get nicked but if this is feasible in minecraft earth is an other matter.

I agree completely. This crafting and smelting system feels pretty distasteful to me. This doesn’t feel like real Minecraft. I know that nobody at Microsoft cares what I think about your monetization, but this is not what Minecraft should be about.

I’m not opposed to microtransactions completely, cosmetic features and buildplates are totally reasonable, but this timer-based system leaves a bad taste for otherwise a fun game.
