Have you ever thought about those little islands that are often generated in the oceans? Don't they look a little empty? Why not give them some life?
Here is my idea:
For lukewarm and normal ocean variants we could have a sub-biome/biome inspired to the Mediterranean scrub ,similar to the flower forest but with a decreased amount and variety of flowers and more grass, It also comes with a new acacia-like shaped tree the Maritime Pine, a common tree in the Mediterranean area. The terrain would be hilly, rocky with overhanging cliffs and gravel beaches.
For warm oceans we could have both a desert island with palms and a tropical palm forest/jungle kind of island. The surroundings of these islands will have a higher chance of generating shipwrecks.
For frozen oceans there could be a simple type of flat island made of ice, gravel and snow with a high chance of spawning artic foxes, polar bears and some new exclusive maybe birdlike mob coff*penguins*coff. It could rarely generate barrels trapped in ice with some juicy loot and things you can't find in cold biomes (red sand, acacia/jungle/palm wood, tropical fish, etc.).
Here's an example of a Mediterranean island
Thanks for your attention and have a nice day.
