I hope this is a given, as Minecraft’s lore comes secondary to gameplay, adding lore might hinder additions to the game in the future: if they speak of creatures of the past that went extinct, we would be unable to add said creatures into the game. With a Minecraft movie cresting the horizon I hope the producers and screenwriters capture the essence of the game rather than explaining it.

As animal as lore comes secondary, however making 'no lord's a rule can also be a problem, you don't want a situation where you countdicing yourself left and right, you want there to seem like there is a solution that makes sense, if there isn't actually one even if it's permanently hidden that can be very difficult if there just winging it.

I agree with you, game theories are the most fun things you can do in a game... Admitted that the game has an actual lore. I don't think Mojang has ever created a lore for the game, and this is the real issue: not knowing wether there is a story that makes sense or just random content put together can make lore theories really frustrating, and take the fun away. I think Mojang should build a lore and then just announce that it exists, without spoiling it, so that people can have fun guessing while knowing there are actual logical connections between all the content pieces in the game. As far as we know, they could already have a lore in mind since the beta versions of the game, but the lack of certainties is what ruins the speculation.
