I have one problem with this. If I wanted, let's say an hour day/night cycle, I would have to type in a recurring decimal, which makes things harder.

I would prefer to have it display the total number of minutes per day, so 20 for default, or 60 for an hour.

just write a short script to go 1 tick back every 3 or 4 ticks of daylight.

    Sooo:
4 ticks passed >> time add -1 tick

And now your day is longer!!

Please they need to add this so bad. I want to feel like my days and hard nights mean something.

This game is too fast. During the day I'll be getting ready to build but before I even head out the door its almost night time again!

You can already recreate this with datapacks or command blocks by "/gamerule dodaylightcycle false", and then doing "/time add" as you see fit to make the day last as long as you want it to.

Someone else suggested that the gameule dodaylightcycle shouldn't be a simple true/false, but rather a number that designates the number of ticks each game day lasts, which I think is a good idea as well.

For a workaround, have an impulse command block set to /time add -1 every while, and it will slow down your days slightly. Yes, it isn't precise but it works if you need it.

would be better if it was by minutes or ticks.

yes, i was looking for an add on (bedrock) that does that, didn't find anything. a vanilla feature like that would be top tier. There is an add on that synchs the time with real time (realtime add on) and there is a java mod that lets u customize the daycycle length (hourglass) but there isn't a bedrock add on that does. It is theoretically possible, it just (to my knowlege) doesn't exist for some reason.

I've wanted this for so long. Have used command blocks before but it doesn't work too well.
