One thing that has always bothered me in Minecraft is how short the day/night cycle is. Twenty Minutes; that's it. This isn't a big deal normally, and I'm sure many people like how long the day normally takes.
But I don't, thus I want to suggest a new gamerule - DayCycleLength - This would speed up or slow down the day/night cycle depending on the value, with 1 being the default 20-minute cycle. This would allow a player to input 0.5 to half the speed that the cycle takes, with 20 minutes of day and 20 minutes of night for a 40-minute cycle, or input 2, to double the speed of the cycle for 5-minute days and nights. This would give players, servers, and map makers more options to work with when configuring a server, offering lengthy days and nights to players who want it, or allowing map makers to create rapid day/night cycles to show the effects of a player's progress in the map.
And it would just give players more options, which is always nice.
