Hmmm, I like the idea but maybe to add more of a...realistic effect maybe only brightly colored frogs would cause poison?   perhaps the brighter the color the more severe poisoning. Kind of like poison dart frogs that exist in real life, the brighter colored frogs would be a little more common in jungle biomes (another idea maybe whatever weapon that killed a poisonous frog would have a chance of harnessing that poison so that any mob that is hit with that weapon has the poison carried over) I love the idea of the frogs being deadly so I thought this would be a nice way to balance it or make it more interesting to experiment with

Completely forgot that with frogs comes the potential for tadpoles.  That be fun to see.

I think that there should be different kinds of frogs that spawn in different biomes. Such as poison dart frogs and bullfrogs. Toads would also be a good edition. Tadpoles are necessary if frogs are added in my opinion. It would be annoying and unrealistic if they just bred like normal mobs.

Haha! They should run away from player and jump in random directions so they are really hard to catch!

You should be able to breed them and when they grow up from tad pole to frog they should drop a slime ball like turtles drop scutes

A very nice but obvious idea, it's quite a bad reflection that the swamp biome has no unique aquatic mobs. I think what's needed to make frogs useful and give players a reason to go to the swamp could be an enchantment of leaping.

I think one way could be for tadpoles to spawn commonly but frogs to be rare due to being hunted by some other swamp mob (I think that some sort of grapple mob that never missed and pulled targets towards it to eat them). This means you would have to capture tadpoles using water buckets and put them in an enclosure where they grow up into frogs.

These frogs could be killed and drop frogs legs which work as a mediocre food source or can be used to make a leaping enchantment for leggings (since boots already have plenty of unique enchantments) which could use a jump bar like horses but use 1 durability for each half block is used.

It should take more than 1 frog leg, (closer to 10) to make it though so it doesn't just take a 1 x 1 block with a tadpole in to make it.

in jungle biomes there could be poison dart frogs which have bright colours such as blues, reds, yellows. hitting them with nothing in your hand or coming into contact could cause poison? maybe you could find frog's spawn as well,

Frogs should be poisonous. At least a few. That should be usable for brewing potions. And maybe if you touch an arrow on a frog you should have an poison arrow. And frogs should be able to stick on Windows

They should also be biome specific like foxes are. There could be normal frogs in the swamp, Tree frogs in the jungle, etc.

Nice idea, here is a compilation of some others' suggestions as well as my own:

-Brightly colored frogs, like red, blue, and orange, for jungle biomes
-Frogs should shed slimeballs after being in the water for some time, making them turn a slightly paler green. Then, if they leave the water for some time, they become more vibrant again (and the cycle repeats)
-Frog legs used for a potion of leaping
-Right-clicking certain colored frogs with an arrow should make them poison arrows
-They should be bred with sea pickles (or termites if they are added)
-When bred, they should lay eggs in nearby water, similar to turtles
-Shearing the eggs gives you slimeballs, but destroys the eggs
-Eggs can be broken with any silk touch tool
-In cold biomes, they should search for water. They should also stay in the water most of the time, unless lured with some tasty pickles (or termites)
-Tadpoles should hatch from the eggs (of course), which would grow into frogs
-Frogs/tadpoles should have 3 stages of growth. Stage 1: Tadpole. Is a tadpole, does tadpole things, looks for pickles, swims away from players. Does not leave water. Stage 2: Froglet. Swims away from players, drops frog legs, leave water for pickles (termites, whatever). Stage 3: Frog. Does whatever a frog does. Can be bred and will lay eggs.

Maybe we can have variants like Red-eyed tree frogs in Jungles.

So this is kind of based off of cerealdragon313's idea about poison frogs. Poison frogs should have an extremely rare drop of poison to lace your sword or tool on.

They should drop frog legs and have those make potions of leaping and make rabbit feet make potions of luck

i think frogs would lay eggs in water that make tadpoles but it you disturb them the eggs will decay and like the turtles have enemies i think tadpoles should to like salmon will try to eat them and salmon should also try to eat the eggs and the eggs should be able to pick up by using a water bucket and also the tadpoles should be able to carry in a bucket similar to the fish. And when you kill a frog the frog should drop frog legs and they should be used to make potions and they should be eatable.

and their should be bugs like flys and mosquitos, dragonflies which the forgs will be able to eat

This is a good idea, just wanted to add in one more thing. If you could cook the frog legs then that would be amazing.(Try Roasted Frog Legs in real life)

P.S. If you eat the frog legs not cooked it should give one halve of a hunger bar and get nauseous fo 5 seconds!

If they add frogs and tadpoles, I kinda feel like they need to add frog eggs too. They also possibly should add toads as well in the future, salamanders and newts would be awesome!

I also feel like we should be able to breed and farm frogs.

Wait, if Minecraft wanted to get the awareness that amphibian numbers are declining quickly, that would be a great idea to save frogs. Maybe they should add polluted water that kills crops and makes you sick or something, it could kill frogs and be sad.

That would be so cool but how would we kill them? Would they attack us or leave us alone?
