I literally made a suggestion nearly word for word about this. Also, I think they should be able to make more baby bees as long as there is honey in her hive. If she does get attacked while she flees the destroyed hive, she can sting you multiple times without dying (like in real life), which would make them more dangerous than normal bees. Also, as they find a new hive, they should not go to a hive with a queen bee already in it.

Edit: Fixed up my comment to remove points already made in the original post.

This would also help bees replenish their numbers if any bees die or get separated from the hive.

I also think you should be able to tame a Queen bee. for example if you have a tamed queen and you gather honey from her hive then the other bees won't attack you.

Bees don't need to be tamed. In the snapshot, placing a campfire underneath a beehive already prevents them from attacking you.

Mobs don't have genders in the game, so I doubt this would be added

    I was thinking this too.

There would be one queen per nest/hive.

Queens should be the size of the current bees and normal bees would be the size of baby bees.

    Nests/hives should fit five bees

When fed, the queen should go into the nest/hive, to breed there should also be at least one regular bee inside, breeding would fill up the rest of the nest/hive.

To get new queens you would give the queen a new item, royal jelly/honey.

Royal jelly/honey would be better, rarer honey. If it's good enough, it would make bee farms worthwhile

Went on a bit of a tangent there, but I like what I just came up with!

If a queen bee Dies all the bees linked to the same nest/hive should die

Have the Queen Bee as a slightly larger bee with a tiny crown on its head. There would be a small chance of dropping the crown when the queen bee dies OR when she breeds (like turtle shell). This crown could be worn by the player when collecting honey. The bees won't attack the player if the crown is worn whilst it might give the player some effects.

They could make the normal bees as small as the baby bee, then the queen be would bee :-D as big as the present bees in minecraft. I BEElieve (i cant stop) that it would make sense.

Hello i am a minecraft fan and a beekeeper
I totally agree with the idea of a queen bee. I think we have enough of the traditional breeding.

In real life if a hive is without a queen it can create a new queen. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't and the hive dies. My idea for breeding bees is to have a way of extracting the queen in a queen cage and then the hive have 2/3 chance to create a new queen or the hive dies. You could craft the queen cage of bamboo and we get a dead beehive block as well to play with. If you have a queen and honey in a hive she produces worker bees.

This is close enough to beekeeping in real life and still simple as a game mechanic

The current bee size is perfect! I love my big bee boys! They are so cute! The queen should just be longer or something, idk

I think the way to get a queen without stealing a natraul one is to still let them breed with flowers, and when you have a baby bee you can feed it honey bottles to make it queen.

This sounds alot cooler than the current breeding method plus its far more realistic i hope this gets in the game

This is a great idea and only a simple mechanic change and include a mob that just has one small variation to the rest. I made a similar post about this and it would be really interesting to see if they listen to the community
