The bee hive could be their workstation and they could trade honey bottles, honeycomb, crystallised honey (see wiki), wax block (see wiki too), campfires, bee nests and bee hives. Love this idea!

Hi, I had a similar idea. What do you think about this?

Could these bee possible? Anyway, I was thinking these guys would be a cool addition. Their workstation would be the beehive of course and they could be one of two concepts.

    1)Assistance with the farmers.

They could tend to the bees so that they would pollinate and assist the village farms that already exist.

    2)Honeycomb/Honey Bottle Farmer

They could have maybe a flower area where the bees would pollinate and then bring back the nectar to the hive. When the villager detects that the Beehive is at Honey Level 5 it would collect the honeycombs with shears.

(Note: Only in the normal Villager working hours.)

Trades: These would maybe bee some of their trades.

Honeycombs, Honey Bottles, Empty Bottles, Shears

Crystallised Honey? Wax Blocks? If they are added to the game/

These guys would probably wear some kind of Beekeeper Suit. It would bee pretty cool.

Thanks for reading anyway, and have a good day. What do you think?

PS. Sorry for all the puns

Seems like a good idea! Beekeeper Villagers will lighten the village. Bees roaming around and having a villager harvest the hive in a Beekeeper suit with make the village better! Maybe they can "Trade" Honey bottles or honeycomb!

I really do hope this idea gets announced! Seems like a good idea to still focus on new things like the bees but also go back to old updates such as village and pillage! There’s still a lot of potential of going back in updates! Would it look like the structure I built in the picture?

Seems to me that they should be trading in Honey based product and flowers. As well as tending to the hives and auto harvesting honey from them, which they would distribute to other villagers.

This is such a great idea! Maybe it could be expanded upon to open up even more possibilities. For example:

    • Honeycombs can be crafted into wax, which in turn could be crafted into candles with string.
    • Candles give off light when placed, and can be stacked like sea pickles. One candle can give off a light level of 7, increasing in increments of two for each candle placed, with a max light level of 13.
    • As an addition to other peoples' comments on Beekeeper Villagers' trades, they can maybe sell 8 candles for one emerald and will buy 16 wax for one emerald.
    • Beehives become a Beekeeper Villager's workstation.
    • Add Abandoned Bee Nests, which cannot house bees and will drop 1 honeycomb when broken, except when broken with a Silk Touch axe.

They could trade: honey combs, hives, bottled honey, glass jars, and flowers. Each one could sell a couple different types of flowers!

Came on to post this idea as well, beekeepers suit should have to craft it with white wool, no armour value against normal attacks but protects against bees

Take a chain mail armor piece in a crafting bench and surround it with leather, this way, if all 4 pieces are worn, the bees won't attack you.

Some Beekeeper Villager trades that can go with these kinds of Villagers.
1 Emerald = Poppy/Dandelion (Poppy or Dandelion is chosen by a randomizer.)
    1 Bottle = 2 Emeralds
    1 Poppy = 3 Empty Bottles
3 Emeralds = Lily of the Valley/Rose Bush (Lily of the Valley or Rose Bush is chosen by a randomizer)
2 Bottles of Honey = 1 Block of Honey
Wither Rose/Lily of the Valley = 1 Bee Nest (Wither Rose/Lily of the Valley chosen by a randomizer)
    2 Bee Hives = 5 Emeralds.
3 Honey Blocks = Enchanted Chain Chestplate (Enchantment = Protection)
    13 Honeycombs = 3 Lily of the Valley's.

They should trade beehives with live bees inside of them! Unless you have silk touch, it's hard to get bees for your farm.

Really good idea. I considered posting this. I never thought about the Bee Suit, It would be a nice way just in case you hit a bee or break a hive they don't sting you and you lose all your bees.

    Everybody Vote on This!

    Trade Block: Bee Hive

    Trades are

Buy With Emeralds: Campfire, Shears, Bonemeal, Honey Block, Candles

Sell For Emeralds: Honey Bottles, Flowers, Honeycomb, Bee Nest

Actions: Will Automatically Shear For Honeycombs And Bottle Up Honey

Will Interact With Farmer Villager By Giving Honeycombs As Bonemeal

Maybe even move flowers closer or even just plant flowers closer to the beehive

I’m glad I’m not the only one with this idea! Beekeeper villagers would be a great addition to Minecraft, hopefully they will work on that.

I had an idea that maybe the beekeeper villagers should only appear in certain villages, like the meadow, plains, and savanna villages. They could trade honeycomb, honey bottles, beehives(at level 2 or 3?)  honey blocks, and maybe even flowers! and beekeeping equipment like shears, (flowers?), and campfires or charcoal in return for emeralds.

And add a new building for the beekeeper... some sort of specific job housing for a villager beekeper? Similarily to how fletchers have their own specific house have a specific house for a beekeeper

I was going to suggest this! I feel like without this the Buzzy Bees update just isn't complete. I have my fingers crossed for 1.17 or 1.18

    Great idea.

They should use the beehive as their workstation and collect honey once a day.

They should not sell us honey bottles and honeycomb as it would make bee farm useless. But they could buy them and sell unique bee related items.

Bee suits seem cool, maybe with poison resistance but very low protection ad armor values

For all of you suggesting poison resistance, I suggest that with either new armor or enchantment, the bee cannot sting you at all, therefore saving the bee and the player. I also think that beekeeper villagers should sell honey blocks, but not cheaply. Similar to how librarians sell bookshelves for 9 emeralds and buy four books for 1 emerald. So maybe sell a honey block for ~16 emeralds, while the villager buys 2 honey bottles for 1 emerald, therefore making it impossible to make a profit of honey just like the librarian with books.

This would give honey even more uses. It would be nice to profit from it.

Adding on to someone else's comment, adding honey glazed bread, but also some utility to honey in general: regeneration I or II. Eating honey of any sort will grant the player the regeneration status. This would definitely help make bees much more useful, and a beekeeper a valuable villager.

+1 for beekeeper as a villager profession with beehives as the jobsite block.
