To take good care of your villagers you could have to keep them in a light level of 7 or more, while maintaing a good place for them to stay, (Making sure there is a bed, allowing free movement, etc.) That would keep them from becoming a vindicator. Perhaps there could be a doctor villager type that would give you things to help keep your villagers healthy? I don't know. It's up to mojang. By keeping your village healthy you could get discounts on trading?
