Skeletons haven’t gotten a new variant since strays a couple of years ago! It’s time they get the “drowned” treatment in getting a new, more interesting variant. I say we should get the Calcin. It’s a flaming, fast skeleton that trails fire as it runs and shoots flaming arrows. But not just any flaming arrows, the real deal, catch-things-on-Fire fire arrows we’ve all wanted for a while! This couples with a new level of the flame enchantment with the same effect. Calcins’ Name originates from Calcination, which, according to Wikipedia, means ‘a thermal treatment process in the absence or limited supply of air or oxygen applied to ores and other solid materials to bring about a thermal decomposition.’ To couple with this it spawns in Mesas to give it more differentiation from other biomes. It would wield a bow similar to a skeleton’s, but it would be made of iron and not craftable, and similarly to the Drowned, the iron bow would only be obtainable by rare chance from this mob. It would also drop bones and arrows, as most skeletons do, as well as charcoal. The heads would drop upon death from a charged creeper. It would burn you when you walk on it, similar to a campfire. They would be completely hostile, die in the rain and water like an Enderman, and be able to survive in both day and night. I spent a long time writing this, and I’d love to see it in-game, and I bet most of you would too! Happy mining and crafting!
