And weather could update based on some open source weather source, like the map is based off openstreetmap :)

As long as this goes for everyone this is a great idea, I mean, every fourth of the year would be snowy and stuff even on towns that are locked on summer forever like mine.. Just dont make regional exclusive stuff cause it sucks in every game that has it (like pogo for example)

It would be cool to see and hear occasional lightning strikes in-game. Snow, too.

I would love to see seasons made available as an option for game play. If season length was proportionate to game day length, after the moon has cycled through all phases would be approximately a month. Players could have the option to cycle through four seasons rather quickly instead of having them coincide with local data which would require wifi/data connection at all times.

However, deciding which seasons are available could be a challenge. Locations with temperate climates have distinct Spring (mild, new growth, lots of rain) Summer (hot, arid, thunderstorms) Autumn (cool, rain, sleet), Winter (cold, sleet, ice, snow, wind, etc). However, closer to the equator produces different weather and seasonal trends.  Perhaps a choice of which climate zone you wish to follow for your game could be an option.

I think a new season should start every 3-5 days. I also think there could be harsh sunlight for summer. Maybe it could reduce your hunger bar faster or maybe you take damage if you stay out in the open for to long

I asked for a some severe weather. I hope that the will put an option to turn it off. I really just like weater though. So even though no in game tornados, or hurricanes you still have my vote

Seasons would be a great addition to mix up the biomes- with trees/plants affected by losing/growing foliage at the right times and respective colour changes. These could affect how farms are kept and animals housed, needing barns etc rather than just a walled space.

Localised weather too- rather than global storms/rainfall, have specific clouds/weather systems that build up and pass. Could be spectacular from a high vantage point. Dry thunder storms too- more risk from lightning strikes.

I thinks this would be great in Minecraft, not Minecraft Earth

If you are outside in the winter for too long you should lose health

That would be great and would add some more immersion to the game.

Some more different styles of rain/fog/Cloudy/sunny weather would add much to the gameplay.

I would also recommend a living nature like spontanious growing trees, bushes and flowers or rotten trees as well.

This comment applies to mc earth in addition to java Minecraft. In winter biomes there could be variable storms where some make snow pile up. more than others and the high amount is create the "snowier" snow mentioned in the live event. Maybe snowshoes could be added to deal with those high amounts of snow. Then the snow can melt in sunny days. Maybe in warmer biomes the rain can vary in a similar way with different levels of storms. There could be for example more quick thunderstorms during the summer and then more prolonged less intense rain storms in the fall and spring with occasional snow in the winter. Then in the desert there can be a dust storm or something of the nature. Also it would be nice to have some more cloud variation instead of just the partly cloudy that happens now (all of this can be turned off in settings of course). Its not super necessary because im not sure it would really fit into mc but maybe some primitive type of weather forecasting could be added or environmental  changes that could indicate a storm is coming. I think this update could really advance the atmosphere of minecraft and make discovering new biomes a lot more immersive.
