In the game's current state, keeping chunks loaded in survival mode without a player nearby is a difficult task that often requires large scale redstone projects that break from version to version and are not very intuitive to new players. Beacons should have the power to load surrounding chunks because they are often a central part of players' bases, and this would be a more elegant way to implement survival mode chunk loading than adding another block. This could be implemented as a new effect with levels I and II. Level I could load 3x3 lazy chunks and level II could load a 5x5 chunk area so that the center is entity processing. Maybe the beacon could also have a random tick range so crops can grow without the player too. This feature would provide players without access to commands/who are trying to play vanilla survival without cheats a way to load important chunks and if playing on a server, even when they are not online. Examples of machines that could benefit are mine carts, slime block flying machines, long-distance item transportation systems with droppers, iron farms, furnace arrays, villager farms/ villager based crop farms.
