NOTICE

Are you sure you want to report this?

Although the Nether biome is a hot topic, remember that items still should be put in their proper categories, even if they are Nether related. Please read the pinned post on creating biomes and dimensions. Please put items for the new Mountains and Nether Updates in their proper categories. Remember portals are structures, that includes Nether portals.

the max was 1500 characters so here's the rest

    The Enemies:

There would be a couple new types of spiders, to start off with there would be one that paralyzes you with an acid spiting attack, not stopping you but giving you slowness. A spider queen that would be the boss to the for mentioned cave labyrinth. A new zombie that gives you slowness when he attacks you, reasoning being he was a previous victim to the spiders and now serves there queen. I also say a rework for the spiders in general should be down because they're so clunky in the first place. Like if I had a dollar for every time I saw a spider just sitting on the ceiling not attacking me I'd actually have more than 1000 dollars. I think the should have the ability to climb on the ceiling and sides of walls to try and juke you when attacking, sort of like in deep rock galactic.

    New Blocks and Items

A couple new decoration blocks like webbed dirt, wood, stone, and stone brick. Though you would only obtain them with silk touch and breaking them with anything else just gives you string. New crafting materials like spider legs, dropped from the queen, too let you create a new chest piece making you blend in more if you were to visit the another Arachnid Forrest. Also a new projectile shot from a crossbow only called a spider gland. It would drop from the spitter spider and would deal a little under what a arrow would deal but would be able to slow mobs.

You could also add other Arachnids, like crabs and scorpions

Could be interesting, sounds pretty similar to the roofed forest though. Same sort of feel. But I can see how adding an entire biome Dedicated to spiders could be uneasy for arachniphobes. I'm not arachnophobic but I could see that being something to consider.

I'd think it would be cool.

I consider myself an arachnophobe because I've gotten scared from Minecraft spiders

There are species of Spiders that create nests that are massive, covering trees and land.

I think a small rare biome in Minecraft would be awesome for this reason.  Many of the ideas above in this comment thread are pretty good.

Perhaps in the nests there's a small chance for a boss battle with a giant spider?

Also ... the biome would give people a reason to have Bane of Arthropods ;)

I think the Spider Queen boss battle could be awesome. Maybe have it so tall that you have to cut each leg down to hit the main body.
As for a reward, maybe a special type of web to construct a new weapon or a fang for a new weapon or potion.

I am not sure about having a boss in the forest. I would recommend it being a sub biome of a forest, (sort of like the bamboo is in the jungle.) I also think that the spiders should be docile during the day as they are currently.  Maybe a specialized smaller variant of spiders, (not sure about acid spitting zombie variants etc.) I fell it should be more of an environment than a "minigame"

I have posted an idea of a web block that contains treasure which would lure players into the forest to explore. Then as night falls the spiders will attack. being that every surface is covered in webs movement in this forest will be slowed, so the deeper you go in, the more likely I would make it to have treasure spawn, but the more risky it would be to be able to get out before nightfall.

Even having spider egg nests clusters that could be broken by stepping on it, (similar to the way turtle eggs break when tread on. and the nbaby spiders would attack as they would be provoked by the crushing of eggs..

I do like the idea of the webs extending down into the caves, though not a generated one or a labyrinth. You want it to feel like spiders have taken over.

Trees should have fewer leaves if any and blocks coated in webbing with cobwebs scattered around.

    Generally I like the concept.
