Option for Old Crouching / Shifting ? (1.14.3 - Java PC Edition)

(Forgive me if I'm on the wrong side of the feedback here, I'm new to this)

Recently, I just hopped in to 1.14.3 for the first time. Everything was new to me, since I always stuck to 1.8.9. One thing that bothered me is the crouching. It's really cool and all, to be shorter, but it has disadvantages. When I try to speed bridge (Where you crouch and uncrouch at a fast speed while building), it slows me down and also threatens to throw me in the void or onto the land below (ultimately killing me). I would like to request, perhaps, some sort of option to go back to the older version's shifting? (Where it doesn't make you shorter)
