We have some exciting changes coming up for Summer 2019 (and beyond) on the Feedback site!
- We’re finally getting our visual upgrade! Our artists and web team have been really hard at work at making something that is easier, brighter, and more intuitive to use. Several of our more obvious changes include surfacing random posts on the front page and making inappropriate content easier to report.
- We know there’s a lot of concern about similar/duplicate topics, so we have some features that we’re putting in to help. We’re also going to see some search engine improvements being worked on by another team in a different update, so we think these things will really help. We’re going to keep working on these improvements.
- We are limiting a number of the formatting options, as they were being used in malicious ways. (For example, using Header 1 and all bold italics for the entire post.)
- We are also putting in a maximum character count for both submissions and comments. We don’t think ideas have to be long or excessively detailed to be great or interesting. We have seen over time that shorter posts tend to encourage discussion and a friendly exchange of ideas so we want to encourage people to get to the point and remain open for ideas! We also feel the new limits are fairly generous and fair.
While we cannot give you exact dates yet (sorry), we hope this preview will get you as hyped as we are.
We do our best here to make sure our community feedback site remains a good place to visit (and understand some of these changes may impact how you use the site), and encourage your feedback on our efforts in the Website category.
Thank you for all your feedback and contributions, as they've helped us prioritize our site's updates.
