As Minecraft developed over the years, at least the last ten years of which I've been a part, I've seen so many individuals develop much needed modules like MovingWorld, flying and motion objects such as windmills and ships, and textures like SteamPunk to provide great imaginary images to inspire both building and battle.
It is a shame that legal threats, technical secrecy, and lack of public API/SDK licensing has pretty much ended innovation by public and private contributors. Mush of the the joy of playing/creation within the game no longer exists. The most popular mods have been abandoned with the official MC developers ignoring the most popular modifications/features/textures.
After building a single world in single player survival mode hoping for an eventual public multiplayer release, I feel cheated. Is there any way to recover what has been lost? Maybe recognize and award those developers who have contributed so much to the game over the years.
