What is parity? This category is designed just for features that exist but work one way on one platform, and another way on a different platform. Bugs are not parity! I'm making a server on Bedrock edition and I'm too lazy to make a Nether Hub so I decided to make a map for new players showing all the different zones such as shopping districts and bases. But as I made the banner, I realized that this was bedrock edition. I was so used to Java edition I forgot that I'm on bedrock edition. So that is why my planned-to-be server lies forever in my worlds folder. In other words, Mojang add this.

Would love to see this in Bedrock, relying on using Item Frames isn't ideal as every marker just shows as green :(

For some reason I guess it is a bug.

Because The Item Frame holds the map,
and your map (the map you are holding) just shows a green mark for a different player, not as a checkpoint/marker, You guys are just using it as checkpoint/marker.

The “Banner map marker” is a feature for marking WHILE “Item Frame map marker” is only a tip.

So there is no feature for “Map marker” in Bedrock edition it is just missing.

    Parity is explained as:
“work one way on one platform, and another way on a different platform.”
BUT there is no “other way” in bedrock
Again, “Item Frame with map” is only a technique, NOT a feature for “Map marker”.

Well remember this is my opinion, My theory might be wrong or right, BUT in my research (which is googling) I found no feature for “Map marker” only in bedrock.

I hope they will add this feature in patches.

    Thank You

Please add to the next update?!  OR ...In one of the 1.16 hotfixes!

I love using the maps after I learnt how to extend it to a 4/4.  I saw a video on the banners and really love the idea.  Being able to use a colour to distinguish a village / mine / jungle etc. would be a fabulous addition and to name them, just the icing on the cake.  I use the maps all the time with item frames, but this new game I have started has about 10 great things all in one map! so it gets confusing trying to remember which is which - in fact, just yesterday, I got close to being no where near home because I headed towards the wrong marker (thankfully I had just enough time to make it home).  I also don't mark things I want as it would be too complicated. Please make this addition to bedrock, it would also help younger players, or those with learning difficulties.  I could go into my daughter's game (Autism) and I could label places for her, so she could then freely walk around knowing where she wanted to go to.  At the minute she won't use survival mode as she gets lost and then panics.  Thank you

I am trying to find out if this very useful feature of placing map markers has made it into the 1.16 update for bedrock. As I am too, getting tired of writing coordinates down....

When the Nether update dropped, this was one of the first things I tried, as I was making a map of the area around my base on the Realm I play on and wanted to easily be able to find my way back while making my map. But there is no way to use a banner to mark a location on a map.

There is a way to work around this lack of a feature if you’re making a map wall, but it’s inconvenient and time-consuming: building letters over the location, using an item framed map to mark the spot the letters identify, then making a locked duplicate of the resulting map. This works for map walls, but, again, is time-consuming and tedious, whereas if we could just use named banners to make our locations, or even just mark them with regular banners, we would be able to mark special or important locations in our worlds much faster.

I’d love to see this parity feature added! Being able to make a map wall is almost useless, unless you just like to see the different biomes. Which is kind of pointless.

I would really love this feature to be added. It would make playing with my daughter or niece infinitely easier so they know where things are in my world. Please add this.

Once I wanted to make a large map of my world and mark my places on it, I was very disappointed when I saw that it did not work. I want it to be added soon!

Parity with Java would be nice on this one. Is it on the roadmap for Bedrock?

We should have this added for the caves and cliff update anyone else think so?

I would call it more of a REQUIRED feature since it's almost pointless to play without it.

I would like to as would it be easier to keep track of all the villages at temples and biomes that way instead of having to write down the coordinates

It can be hard to locate your base with a maxed out map because of the lack of markers. This would make life better pls add

Why is this feature still being kept from bedrock players?

Became super interested in cartography after watching someone’s video about the cartography table and maps in general. Then I realized they were on Java edition and that the map banners didn’t work. I understand differences existing between Java and Bedrock but this difference seems silly that it isn’t in bedrock as well.

With the addition of Realms finally being able to effectively mark maps is essential!!!

I would love to see it too! I like this way better than the map in a item frame way because it also has the addition of naming it!

Please!!!!! Designated family cartographer here LOVE making the maps but I'd LOVE it more if I could mark and label my discoveries and points of interest with actual labels. Item frames labels are such a struggle especially when super close to a maps edge!
