As of late, Minecraft has been trying to branch out into other media more, most notably with Story Mode and Dungeons. However, one (kind of) issue with these projects is that they often require a ton of unique blocks and even mobs to tell their story. I personally don’t mind this, but I have seen some people complain about this. Therefore, I propose that a potential future update be dedicated to adding content from these spin-offs, thus adding synergy between the original game and the spin-offs.
I don’t mean making Jesse an NPC or something, since that would mean Minecraft has a set in stone plot and lore. As much as I like Story Mode and look forward to the movie, I believe they should stand on their own and be treated like mere options instead of official canon. However, that doesn’t mean that there still can’t be any ties to them in the base game. The way I see it, any immigrated content should be identifiable, but stand on their own enough to not give one solid answer. For example:
-Add white pumpkin seeds as a very rare piece of loot.
-Make banners based off the movie’s characters a rare drop from a mob relevant to the movie’s plot.
-Include the first few chapters of the official novels as actual, readable books you can purchase from librarians.
-Pigs named Reuben actually change to resemble the character from Story Mode.
