Villagers should heal Iron Golems

The new gossip feature for Villages was a great addition to Minecraft, I think villagers should be able to heal Iron Golems through gossip. Or, any villager with a blacksmith profession should be able to repair them by having "repair Iron Golem" in their schedule. Iron Golems die way too easily in large hoards of enemies, so it would make sense for Iron Golems to be repaired after each raid or zombie siege.

    I like this a lot, perhaps we could see an animation with the blacksmith pounding on the iron golem with a hammer or something.

    Yeah, I totally agree with this. Iron Golems are essentially the only thing (besides the player, if they care) keeping villages intact, especially in Hard Mode when zombies can break down doors. Iron Golems do die too easily. I don't really care for any fancy animations or whatnot, I'm mainly asking because of how easily Golems can die, and how expensive they are to rebuild. I recently saw a Skeleton trapped in a pen in a village, caught in crossfire with a Golem somehow. The Iron Golem couldn't do anything but stand right next to the Skeleton as it got repeatedly shot. If I hadn't intervened, the Golem would've died, unable to kill the skeleton.

    This is a great idea. I believe that weapon smiths, tool smiths, and armorers should repair iron golems whenever they appear cracked. This would make villages even more lively.

    This would be neat, it would also be neat if the player could "feed" an Iron Golem iron (probably in block form for every 25 health but the exact numbers are up to Mojang). This would give players that have Golems but not Villagers a means of repairing their battered Golems.

    Great Idea! I think if you heal an iron golem, it should be passive towards you until you did more damage to villagers or other golems than you healed it

    I think maybe blacksmiths could carry iron ingots and use them to heal iron golems the same way farmers plant seeds that they have in their inventories. I really hope more people vote for this.

    this would help the fact that if you don't protect the village 99% of the time the golems die and the village dies to. we need more features that keep villages from just dying all the time and this is a great start. i think that we need better lighting coverage in villages so mobs don't spawn as close but will still attack the village and maybe some bigger villages have walls. also i think that mobs should be drawn toward light sources it only makes sense.

    Amazing this will help prevent players wasting their effort finding a villager in hard but to find it with no villagers.

    Iron golems, during the day should go into a garage like building were a unique villager repairs them. For the right price the villager can upgrade the iron golem. Like adding an arrow shooting despenser on its shoulder, or a light on its chest to dispel hostile mobs from spawning.

    Iron blocks: heals 50 percent damage. 

    iron ingot- heals 25

    Iron nugget: 10

    Iron Armor, Weapons, Material etc. 25 

    Ore 5

    Love this idea. The green "vine" on the golem could be a health indicator, it fades as their health fades and returns as the get healthier.

    This is good. You could have the blacksmith repairing the golem and the cleric giving it strength potions or something.

    I mean...these guys have blacksmiths and people that make iron weapons...I don't see why they wouldn't be able to patch up their golems

    Or there could be just one kind of villager called a healer or something that specifically does just that. Good idea! This is long overdue.

    This will make golems much cheaper, which means I can have 5 golems and they will survive more than a few nights.

    good idea but I think that if they DO fix the golems it will wreck the balance of Minecraft.

    Maybe if an iron golem gets down to 50% health or under, there's a 30% chance for each of the armorsmiths or weaponsmiths to walk up to the iron golem and attempt to heal it.

    This is a nice addition but I think only black smiths should be able to heal iron golems.
