Villager Mines on Villages

Adding a Villager mine would be a great idea. Not just that it gives a new workspace for villagers, but you can also gain easy access to ores as well.

Perhaps this would only happen if a village would spawn near a deep cave. But Villages on the doorstep of an extreme hill would have a 100% of having a mine in it. All villages with mines would have significantly lower prices, since their economy is much based on the mine itself. 

I won't be adding much but please if you would add it, make the mine as active a possible like adding moving carts and mining villagers. Thanks!

    Maybe there could be a structure called the "Maintained Mineshaft" that generates next to Villages that are near Extreme Hills, and it could be like the abandoned versions but with torches, bridges, and miner villagers (which could actually mine blocks and deposit them in chests), and no spawners or cobwebs. They may also intersect with some special underground structures that would be fun to explore, instead of just some Cave Spider spawners.

    This idea really has potential. Support!

    That would be a great edition and it can have new villager skin that work there and can use the new lanterns and new blocks and even add stone stairs and slabs and also have loot in minecarts and have chest and villagers have a pickaxe

    I like this idea as it explains how the villagers got minerals. I suggest that if you take the minerals from the chests in the mineshaft, your popularity will decrease drastically based on how many items you stole X the number of emeralds that would be traded for the minerals. Not only that, but I also suggest that the miner villager can help restock other villagers that have a stone or ore related profession, and that you gain popularity if you help the miner by finding ores for them.

    Fundamental idea. There are many abandoned mines, so why not create mining villagers? But, in truth, on Minecraft, many interesting figures are missing: eg. lone villagers hunters you meet in the woods, villagers guards (equipped with spear and sword).

    Not too much to add here, but I think that it would be nice if the miner villagers people are suggesting would buy gunpowder as a mid-tier trade and sell TNT blocks as their "top of the line" trade...

    Maybe that under his house there is a small mine and you can find raw materials and ore blocks in the chest

    You could hire a villager by paying them with emeralds place a chest beside or near them hand them a pick or shovel or even a hoe and they would work until the item broke. They would mine or farm for you by collecting resources or food near the chest you have placed for them to use

    While they probably shouldn't actually mine blocks this does make sense and would fit well. Perhaps underground cabins for the miners?
